To wonder why I didn't get a maternity nurse on the NHS?

WTAF?!? Am I the only one who didn't get one Confused What will Americans think of us if they believe that!!

I think this must be the midwife home visit. But you only get one of those in my area now. And they forgot to come to me.

A maternity nurse is someone who moves in with the family after baby is first born and takes over everything while the parents recover. Not usually on NHS.Confused

Quite possible Will and Kate never had one. Probably because they have a team of 40 staff to do everything for them anyway. Hmm

I think they got their terms mixed up. Over here it's someone who helps after the birth, in America it just seems to be a term for a midwife. That link I posted mentions assisting before and during labour rather than afterwards.

Confused I had two. One of them came home with us and stayed with us until the baby was 6 weeks old.

Lovely she was! Did all my washing and cleaning.

In fact, I'm thinking of having a DC3 just to get another.

...read the other day midwifes are illegal in some states!! Shock

However I'm almost about to have my first baby-glad to hear Ill get a maternity nurse-maybe they can do the night feeds! Wink

Um, yes she will Tee . When William becomes king Kate will become queen.

It's only in cases where the female is the one next in line to the throne where the spouse doesn't become king (because king is seen as being above queen Hmm ) if that makes sense?

The only maternity nurse I had was my mum! She must be due several weeks of back pay from the NHS Grin
