Dh never does the washing but was running low on pants. So he collected all the dirty pants in the house including ds's badly soiled ones in the laundry basket i use for clean washing.
Aibu to be disgusted by this. I have cleaned said basket with anti bac spray but this makes be cringe.
Aibu or ocd.

miffybun Did you even read the thread before you said "a bit OCD"??

WillyandTig · 18/08/2013 18:13

And "no excuse for that" just highlights how little you know ab

WillyandTig · 18/08/2013 18:14

Ahem, about OCD. So its pretty silly for you to attack the OP for daring to include OCD with pooey pants.

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:16

i'm sorry but how is it relevant. you couldn't possibly remove it, fuck it out a window, get a clothes hanger or someone else to? I really don't understand!!

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:17

oh Christ on a bike we all have our quirks! doesn't mean you have ocd.

miffybun73 · 18/08/2013 18:17

I put it in inverted commas, because I meant it in the way that the OP clearly meant it. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend :(

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:18

Willy I honestly don't think there is an excuse but in a genuine manner am open to be schooled on it. cos I cant wrap my head around it. I really cant!

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:19

sorry miffy I didn't mean to be so bitchy! I get you now

theodoricus · 18/08/2013 18:21

Sometimes, I worry that if something is touched by anyone/anything then everyone in my family will die.

That is part of my OCD.

Maybe this is how Willy feels about the vest? Or maybe it's different? OCD isn't so clear cut as the media chooses to portray it.

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:23

I am sure it isn't. I was asking for an explanation but I understand Willy doesn't owe me one. Just ... can't ... imagine why.

StuntGirl · 18/08/2013 18:26

Do people even understand what OCD is? And I'm aiming this at the people up in arms about the OP's usage, while bollocksing it all up themselves.

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:30

No stuntgirl, please tell me.

StuntGirl · 18/08/2013 18:38

It does not mean obsessively cleaning, it can manifest itself in many various ways.

For example: My colleague has to touch things in a certain order. Has to. She is extremely anxious all the time about money and will check, re check, and triple check her online statements, even when she knows no payments have come out. Leaving her flat takes approximately 30 minutes because she has an elaborate routine where she checks everything is switched off, put away, in the right places. She does the touch in order thing on the way out. She will lock and unlock the door several times as part of her routine. And if she feels any of it was off she will start again.

Her flat is a shit tip! Clean liness is not an issue for he!

StuntGirl · 18/08/2013 18:39

Oh, and she does this because she thinks if she doesn't something terrible will happen to her or her family.

theodoricus · 18/08/2013 18:40

I highly doubt, fluckered that, if we were discussing the different symptoms, manifestations and types of breast cancer, you'd be so dismissive or flippant?

lljkk · 18/08/2013 18:44

yabu.
You know the germs that kill are not things like a invisible bits of fecal matter. Try SARS & Ecoli571 instead.

EmmaGellerGreen · 18/08/2013 18:48

I am confused, not just about why pooey pants were not dealt with sooner, but why did your dh just collect up pants and not the rest of the washing? How many pairs of dirty pants were there in your house? [Confused]

EstelleGetty · 18/08/2013 18:54

Och away. All laundry baskets need a clean from time to time. See this as an opportunity.

And please don't use OCD flippantly. It ruins people's lives. Now, whenever anyone says they're 'a bit OCD' over something trivial, I say 'I'm so sorry - when did you get diagnosed? Are you on meds?' That might make me a cow, but I'd challenge anyone to live with my MH problems before trivialising them.

valiumredhead · 18/08/2013 18:55

How many dirty pants Ste in your house?Shock Grin

I have one wash basket, as do must people.

I'd be grateful, if the OP, as others have suggested, has OCD and cannot pick up the dirty undies. Though I wouldn't be happy having them left on the floor until they had all been used. They must smell....

binhome · 18/08/2013 19:04

We have an almost 4 year old with issues doing poos. If i am around i deal with him appropriately and soak said underwear. Dh expects him to sort himself out. This leads to me finding them inin the ensuite i never use days later. Apologies for ocd comment.. maybe not right word.
I normally bring dirty washing down in laundry hamper. Not baskets i use for ironing.
Ok and dhs often had skid marks too. Sorry tmi.

What MrsDevere said.

'DH never does the washing'

What? He's a grown man FFS. How can people live with these helpless little princes

pianodoodle · 18/08/2013 19:07

I have a dirty washing hamper and one basket for carrying all the washing.

Anything skiddy/pukey just bypasses the basket and gets fired straight in the machine.
