Dh never does the washing but was running low on pants. So he collected all the dirty pants in the house including ds's badly soiled ones in the laundry basket i use for clean washing.
Aibu to be disgusted by this. I have cleaned said basket with anti bac spray but this makes be cringe.
Aibu or ocd.

Two things:
1 dh helped
2 u really don't have OCD as no way poo pants would have been left - why weren't these cleaned nearer time?!?

Don't use real illness to boast.

sweetkitty · 18/08/2013 17:53

I have two baskets one for dirty and one for the clean needs to be ironed pile. The non ironing stuff (eg pants/socks) gets put away every day.

DS pooed his pants a bit this morning, I binned the pants never mind washing them, life's too short to scrape and wash poo out of pants, I know it's a bit wasteful but he's due new pants in the next size up. When they were potty training I bought a load if Asda basics pants and binned if it was a poo.

miffybun73 · 18/08/2013 17:54

It would really have never crossed my mind to use the basket that I empty clean washing out of the machine into to collect dirty washing. Does anyone actually do this?

I just pick the dirty washing up and carry it to the machine. I then wash my hands.

I would be disgusted too.

Methe · 18/08/2013 17:55

Why does your husband shit in his pants and why the fuck do you wash them the majority of the time.

[boggles]

WillyandTig · 18/08/2013 17:56

Erm, you can have OCD if you leave poopy pants in your house. OCD manifests in different ways for different people. Just because your OCD would prevent you from having pants like that around doesn't mean it would prevent someone else with OCD from having them in their house.

eurochick · 18/08/2013 17:57

I use the same bags for dirty and clean clothes. They are not that dirty that I am bothered frankly. And I am a bit of a clean freak!

Methe · 18/08/2013 17:57

Oh oh sorry.. Your ds is the culprit.

My ds shits himself frequently. His pants go in the bin. Life is to short for washing shitty pants. A pack of pants is like £2.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 18/08/2013 18:00

"I just pick the dirty washing up and carry it to the machine. I then wash my hands."

Just how dirty is your washing?? Confused

theodoricus · 18/08/2013 18:02

OCD is an illness.

That said, for all those who think that the OP cannot possibly have OCD because she allows soiled pants in her house, it's entirely possible to have obsessions about keeping clean things clean and dirty things in, erm, dirty places.

OCD can manifest itself in many different ways.

However, OP, YABU to talk about being 'slightly' OCD: you either are, in which case you have my full sympathy and should probably see your GP, or you don't. In which case, you need to learn that 'being OCD' is not a thing...

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:03

who the hell leaves pooey pants around the house. its either bagged and binned/scraped and washed immediately!! wtf!! and to use that in the same posts as claiming to have ocd and having separate baskets for clean and dirty clothes? this is the most ironic thread I have ever read.

FrenchRuby · 18/08/2013 18:04

Just to point out that having ocd doesn't mean your house is spotless. Sil has OCD (very severe) and she is very messy (not being mean, love sil to bits) because she physically cannot bring herself to pick things up off the floor. But equally it annoys me when people say they are OCD when actually they're just a bit of a neat freak.
I think yabu, at least he was helping.

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:04

OCD, depressed and bully are the most misused bandied about conditions/words used on forums.

FrenchRuby · 18/08/2013 18:04

Sorry cross posted with a few others.

WillyandTig · 18/08/2013 18:05

Well, fluckered. I had a shit covered vest in my house for a week. I have OCD. Clean baskets for clean and dirty for dirty. I don't see any irony there.

Bowlersarm · 18/08/2013 18:05

YABU. He was doing what he thought was right.

TheRobberBride · 18/08/2013 18:05

YABU. And WHY would you leave soiled paints in a hamper? Surely you either rinse them straight away and then bung them straight in the machine or throw them away if they are ruined?

thebody · 18/08/2013 18:06

first world problem.😄

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:06

moving aside the OCD remark .. I obviously don't understand the extent of this illness nor am I trying to be flippant about it, but why have a shitty vest in your house for a week?

fluckered · 18/08/2013 18:08

no excuse for that imo. as even if you cant deal with it get someone else to, but to knowingly leave it there for that long around children is horrendous! may as well take a dump on the living room floor!

ChippingInHopHopHop · 18/08/2013 18:09

I am curious as to why you have pooey pants lying around the house - most odd.

DH collected them all (a bit weird but hey ho) then did he actually put a wash on, or just tell you he'd collected them?

FacebookWanker · 18/08/2013 18:09

Well, that failed. But you get my drift.

WillyandTig · 18/08/2013 18:10

Perhaps don't move aside the OCD remark, as that's completely relevant to why I had a shit covered vest in my house for a week.

miffybun73 · 18/08/2013 18:11

My washing isn't particularly dirty, but I admit I am a bit "OCD" about cleanliness/personal hygiene.

I always have a shower first thing in the morning and last thing at night before I go to bed even if it's really late and I'm tired.

I also hate it when people sit on the bed in their clothes that they've worn outdoors.
