DS is 20 months old.

We have had a letter from the HV saying she would like to come and see us on Friday "to see how you are all doing"

AIBU to wonder if this is a routine visit as it doesn't make any reference to any specific checks, and as far as I can tell he isn't due a visit until the 2 - 2.5 year check

Is this normal and routine?

Thanks tot

DH was pleased to know there was stuff out there for him. I think sometimes he feels as a Dad who is SAH he gets overlooked a bit so I think it was nice for him to have some child-related listening to him and acknowledge how hard things can be at home for a change if that makes sense

She understood its not the days he has DS he struggles with - he loves those - its the ones when he is on his own. I think he was pleased to be listened to and considered

I don't think he will rush to take up all of the ideas and groups she spoke of but I think he felt valued as a parent and heard which was good and I felt happy to think there was someone else I could talk to if I needed it.

I was also very proud of DS as she said he was doing brilliantly with his development which was nice to hear

That all sounds great. Hopefully this could be a big turning point for DH.

Have a nice weekend. Smile
