Yes I know he looks like Edward Scissorhands, but my goodness I would, given half a chance. Perhaps he appeals to my inner goth, I dunno. Am I alone on this one?

He's luverlly. I've stopped watching the rest, I just watch him. I don't even call it The White Queen now. I just call it My Richardfest. Dh is a bit Hmm.

Drool.

orangeandemons · 12/08/2013 11:40

And he looked so sinister and brooding this week....

Flobbadobs · 12/08/2013 11:42

Margaret Beaufort was a really interesting character, I can see why PG likes her. She was exceptionally clever and politically aware. Plus unbelievably pious, I do rather like Amanda Hayes portrayal!
Not sure about Anne Neville, the most interesting thing about her seems to be her Father and her Husband tbh, the actress is good though.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 12/08/2013 11:44

I'm a TOTAL Ricardian. Margaret Beaufort did it!

orangeandemons · 12/08/2013 11:46

If I was an actress playing his wife, I would be hard pressed to actually act in those bedroom scenes

ToysRLuv · 12/08/2013 11:46

He is beautiful, and the age gap doesn't really matter I did go out with a 18 year old when I was 24

It was Margaret. It makes total sense. Anne and Richard took in George's children after he died. Edward Warwick was technically before Richard in the succession. He didn't murder that nephew!

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 12/08/2013 11:57

Oi oi - stop with the history lesson.
This is supposed to be a thread about smokin hotness - and we've all seen that portrait...Smile

Elsiequadrille · 12/08/2013 11:58

I'd forgotten about that, saggy. Good point.

ToysRLuv · 12/08/2013 12:01

Now that we know that he was meant to have had scoliosis (as shown by the skeleton), I kind of miss it. I'm not sure it would take away from the smoking hotness..

FrankelInFoal · 12/08/2013 12:02

I agree, it's a fascinating period perhaps more so than Henry VIII. The PG documentary was very enlightening, I hadn't realised how young Margaret Beaufort was when she had Henry (13 Shock). It's actually quite admirable that a young girl who was, quite frankly, used and abused by those around her was able to become such a powerful and influential woman.

Flobbadobs · 12/08/2013 12:02

Ahem... Going back to the smokin hotness... Grin
It's his voice for me rather than his face, it's such a mature growly voice! Gives me a little shiver...

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 12/08/2013 12:17

The eyes - always the eyes....

Flobbadobs · 12/08/2013 12:18

Kenneth Branagh!! That's who his voice reminds me of! Ignoring the fact that he's Irish not Welsh he's got the same gravelly tone.
Am pleased now...

ToysRLuv · 12/08/2013 12:21

Only the name is a bit.. ahem. Does anyone else think "aneurysm"?

ToysRLuv · 12/08/2013 12:22

I'm sure it means something nice in Welsh, though..

It just puts me in mind of Aneurin Bevan - he of NHS fame.

ToysRLuv · 12/08/2013 12:36

Boozy: Only a teensy bit. And he hasn't go hairy feet (I don't think.. but they haven't shown them, have they!).

softlysoftly · 12/08/2013 12:46

I am lusting after him a little, and very very glad that I am now allowed to fancy him as he wasnt a child murderer.

to the pp who fancied George are you utterly bonkers?! Shock that cheesy cheesy grin

As a medieval historian by training, I've always been in the Richard was not all bad camp. And not just because of this hottie Wink

Aneurin

And lo, there was much fanning of self and coming over all unnecessary.
Thinking about it, there's something of the Jack White scruffy oddness about him I'm partial too. With you on the long hair badspeakingskills he'll be keeping those tresses if I have a thing to do with it, oh yes.
