Yes I know he looks like Edward Scissorhands, but my goodness I would, given half a chance. Perhaps he appeals to my inner goth, I dunno. Am I alone on this one?

I'm only a few years older so not to bad Grin

I googled ages of him amd saw him with short hair, he looks like a school boy and I immediately felt a bit weird and lkke a dirty pervert. Confused

He'll always have long hair in my fantasies sigh

BadSpeakingSkills · 11/08/2013 23:27

That should read I googled *images Hmm

Feckin autocorrect.

RhondaJean · 11/08/2013 23:29

Does a ten year age gap make me a dirty pervert if he is 26?

I love the "trainable but dirty" comment - that's it in a nutshell!

He is really rather lovely. But then I'm a sucker for the brooding thing.

Mumbledore · 11/08/2013 23:31

I think he looks like Alistair Cook (cricket captain), in fact I thought it was him to start with but then I realised a cricketer probably wouldn't be in a BBC drama! I recommend you watch some of The Ashes...

GobbySadcase · 11/08/2013 23:34

Yeah I would....
Oh hang on, 26? Now I feel dirty...

Travelledtheworld · 12/08/2013 04:40

Aneurin Barnard...yum.

SelectAUserName · 12/08/2013 04:47

He played David Bailey in "We'll Take Manhattan". Well worth a watch.

I have been calling him Richard Scissorhands in this though. When he was investing his nobles (or whatever you call it) in tonight's episode, I was waiting for him to appoint a Lord High Royal Hair Comber. God knows he could do with one.

Taranta · 12/08/2013 05:59

26?!oh dear, I do try and make it a policy not to fancy people that I could in theory have given birth to, albeit I'd have to have started young. Oh dear me. Was hoping for at least 30...

This was the last thread that I posted on last night before going to sleep. I had the most erotic, bordering on the perverse dream about this man. It was bloody lovely. Mmmm.

FrankelInFoal · 12/08/2013 07:03

He was a late entry as a potential "next Doctor" just before the announcement the other week.

It's interesting how the programme (haven't read the books) is going against the traditional Tudor propaganda version of Richard as an evil megalomaniac, but they're slowly turning him into the Tudor inspired image of Richard (pale, hollow eyes, I even swear he started limping a la a hunchback last night!)

BMW6 · 12/08/2013 07:30

Oh my word, yes please....... even if I am old enough to be his Mum.......

Tiredemma · 12/08/2013 08:38

I wouldn't care if I was old enough to be his grandmother.

There is just something freakishly adorable about him.

Flobbadobs · 12/08/2013 09:10

Not so much in the White Queen but if you look for him on Google images he's a little cutie! His voice is lovely, I can't figure out who he sounds like though. That lovely welsh lilt comes through occasionally, he sounds like someone else famous and it's annoying me that I can't figure it out!
Amanda Hayes (plays Margaret Beaufort) is a damn sight prettier irl too.

MrsDarylDixon · 12/08/2013 09:31

He's really not my type - too young, to short, foppy hair. But oh god i would love to do some very naughty things to him...

Elsiequadrille · 12/08/2013 09:34

"It's interesting how the programme (haven't read the books) is going against the traditional Tudor propaganda version of Richard as an evil megalomaniac"

^This

I'm really not sure I'm convinced, but it's interesting to watch all the same.

Flobbadobs · 12/08/2013 09:38

Does anyone else think they've gone too far the other way though? Last night it implied that everyone but Richard were plotting to kill the boys. I know she's a big Richard III fan but I just think she's unrealistic to imply that it never crossed his mind..

sarahandemily · 12/08/2013 09:39

I think richard scissor hands as I'm now calling him sounds like he is doing an impression of Laurence Olivier doing Shakespeare. George has played almost exactly the same part on pillars of the earth and the borgias. Wonder who he can be typecast as next.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 12/08/2013 09:46

I can see the Richard Scissorhands angle but to me he's Richard Baggins. I expect to see Gollum sidling onto the set at any moment.

Allegrogirl · 12/08/2013 09:49

YA so NBU. Edward Scossorhands/dark, floppy haired welsh type. Bit grubby, bit goth. Swoon.

DH is Welsh so at least I am consistent.

Elsiequadrille · 12/08/2013 09:51

Yes, I do think they've gone too far the other way with Richard. Also with Elizabeth having sent Richard away. It makes for odd, but interesting, viewing.

George played Juan in the Borgias? I didn't recognise him!

Tiredemma · 12/08/2013 10:25

Amanda Hayes plays 'barking mad' brilliantly.

Tiredemma · 12/08/2013 10:27

Also what I love about it is how its gets you questioning history- we all know that PG has taken some liberty with the storyline but it really makes the whole series so much more interesting when you can question certain events.

GeneHuntsMistress · 12/08/2013 11:17

He reminds me of Charlie Higson (Fast Show) ... Just me??

FrankelInFoal · 12/08/2013 11:34

PG said in her documentary that she was convinced Eluzabeth would have smuggled her youngest son away. I can see her reasoning: if you knew someone was likely to come and take your child away, having already taken one, would you sit back and do nothing?

She's also in the "Margaret Beaufort did it" camp when it comes to the disappearance/murder of the boys in the Tower.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 12/08/2013 11:38

Amanda Hayes has form for playing barking mad. She was in 'The Crimson Petal and the White' and, if anything, she played it even better in that broke my heart
