To be fair we was out with a LOT of family and DD 16 months loved sitting in the middle of the table and spinning round to say hello to everyone.

Why would it be a problem?

VacantExpression · 11/08/2013 21:00

My eldest had his first trip to a beer garden at three days old... on our way home from hospital. Well, it was a lovely day and a lovely lunch out!

kalidanger · 11/08/2013 21:00

Beer gardens are for kids, aren't they? Or patents with kids?

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2013 21:02

Did you press post too soon OP?

50BalesOfHay · 11/08/2013 21:03

Why do you think it might have been unreasonable?

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 11/08/2013 21:04

My DS has his first trip to the pub at um...6 weeks. It was a leaving do.

DS had a great time recently running around a beer garden, he ran up to some random bloke and shouted Daddy! The bloke said 'I don't think so'. Yes DH was there. Blush

FeckOffCup · 11/08/2013 21:07

Take her there but remember it is a pub so don't complain if there are drunk people and smokers also there.

Smartiepants79 · 11/08/2013 21:08

Who say you shouldn't have?
By 16 months both mine had been into several beer gardens and several pubs themselves for that matter.
Family pubs are fine for all age children. As long as you're not all still there at midnight I can't see the problem.

bittenipples · 11/08/2013 21:13

My ds 10mo lives in a pub Shock

IsisOhIsis · 11/08/2013 21:16

Yanbu. Loads of pubs have climbing frames and things in the beer garden, they expect kids to be there.

Queen0fFeckingEverything · 11/08/2013 21:16

I clicked on this because I thought it said bear garden Blush

CoralDots · 11/08/2013 21:17

Yes I did press post too soon Smile

I meant to say there were heavy drinkers and smokers nearby but all open air isnt it? And I had my very close eye on her.

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and live in a pub, so when my baby arrives she will spend lots of time in a beer garden!

VisualiseAHorse · 11/08/2013 21:25

I also thought it said bear garden...

ILetHimKeep20Quid · 11/08/2013 21:38

As long as you didn't huff and puff every time someone had a smoke or said a swear, yanbu.

Trills · 11/08/2013 21:41

Beer gardens are FOR anyone who wants to sit outside with their beverage.

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt · 11/08/2013 21:44

We used to take DD to the pub A LOT when she was tiny. She's sleep very well while we had dinner and caught up with friends.

It's harder now she's bigger but I imagine she'd enjoy a beer garden as much as I did as a child!

mystaplerisevil · 11/08/2013 21:46

i don't think i have ever taken my children to a pub and they are 12 and 20, pubs aren't ideal places for kids in my opinion

sorry i am sure all your pubs are lovely but i don't think they are places for children

difficultpickle · 11/08/2013 22:07

If our local pubs didn't allow children in the garden they would go out of business.

Wuxiapian · 11/08/2013 22:08

A beer garden with heavy drinkers and smokers? Nope, not for me and baby!

difficultpickle · 11/08/2013 22:08

mystapler I hate to break it to you but your 20 yr old dc may be going to pubs without you Grin

babysaurus · 11/08/2013 22:10

I think my DS has been to most of the pubs in our surrounding area! YANBU!

candycoatedwaterdrops · 11/08/2013 22:12

Beer garden? Yes.
Bear garden? No, I would wait until she can run faster! Wink

teenagetantrums · 11/08/2013 22:12

my Ds was in a beer garden at 5 days old after we registered the birth, both my kids have spent time in and out of pubs all through their life.

Ham69 · 11/08/2013 22:14

My DS's very first outing out was to the pub.
