AIBU to be suspicious at finding a false eyelash on our bedroom carpet?

Yes we do have teenage daughters, but they have both been away on holiday for a week and as far as i am aware no-one has been in their rooms. Besides they are 13&14 and not allowed to have them or wear them. I wouldnt dream of wearing them.

So AIBU?? Or is there a perfectly reasonable explanation?

Have you ever owned false lashes?

mynameisslimshady · 08/08/2013 18:00

Do your daughters friends visit? It could have been laying undiscovered in your house for weeks.

notapizzaeater · 08/08/2013 18:00

I'd not even bat an eyelash at this GrinGrinGrinGrin seriously I wouldn't be worried, I'd presume theirs (in secret) or a friends.

parakeet · 08/08/2013 18:00

"They are not allowed to wear them"...and teens always do as they are told, right?

MrsRajeshKoothrappali · 08/08/2013 18:01

Ewwwwww!

I'll bet it came in on a cat paw or something!

solarbright · 08/08/2013 18:01

What do you think happened? You suspect your DP took a woman into your bedroom and that's how the false eyelash got there? Is that more or less likely than your DDs trying some out?

ShatnersBassoon · 08/08/2013 18:01

Do you have a cleaner who's been in the bedroom today?

eurochick · 08/08/2013 18:03

Could it have come in on a shoe or been dragged there from another room that way?

MikeOxard · 08/08/2013 18:03

What are you suspicious of, and why (apart from the eyelash)?

RhondaJean · 08/08/2013 18:03

Is it an individual lash or strip lashes?

I wear individual eyelash extensions all the time and they come out all the time and get everywhere. They could stick to clothing from chairs and be carried in quite innocently.

If its one of the strip lashes then you would know it came off I would imagine and it would be much harder to pick up on clothing without realising too.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 08/08/2013 18:04

Your DH likes to dress a woman. Sorry. Wink

AnyFucker · 08/08/2013 18:04

it will be one of your daughter's (or one of their friends)

what other explanations are you considering ?

TequilaMockinBird · 08/08/2013 18:04

Are you sure it's a false eyelash and not half a dead spider?

NutcrackerFairy · 08/08/2013 18:04

More information needed please...

A false eyelash would not necessarily be cause for alarm.... do you have a cleaner who wears them? A relative or friend of your DD who might have used your bedroom mirror to fix their face? A real estate agent if you are selling your house?

I am extrapolating here but I assume you are worried because you suspect that either your DH or DP has brought a woman who wears false eyelashes into your bedroom and you can't think of anyone with benign intention that it could be?

Do you suspect DH/DP of having an affair?

If so, does DH/DP have previous form for inappropriate behaviour with other women, false eyelash wearing of otherwise?

hellymelly · 08/08/2013 18:04

I reckin teenage girls. They are sticky, so easily carried on a foot from one room to another if they have landed on the floor. Do your dds ever have friends sleep over after parties etc?

hellymelly · 08/08/2013 18:04

That was meant to be reckon not reckin!

BaronessTeapot · 08/08/2013 18:06

Anybody walking around like a Clockwork Orange extra?

Yonionekanobe · 08/08/2013 18:07

Most likely to be the teenagers

Branleuse · 08/08/2013 18:07

do you think your dp is cheating? Is this the only clue?

tabulahrasa · 08/08/2013 18:11

a false eyelash as the only reason for suspicion wouldn't make me bat an eyelid (see what I did there? lol)

in my experience if you've ever had a set in the house, they're still there waiting to pop up and scare you with their eery spider impressions...it doesn't matter if it was years ago and you definitely threw them out, they're sneaky wee fuckers.

LessMissAbs · 08/08/2013 18:13

Wow OP how good is your eyesight and attention to detail?

Betrayedbutsurvived · 08/08/2013 18:14

I know someone who found a false nail under the bed. Turned out her DH had been dressing as woman.

Do you think it is an affair, the teenagers or a cross dressing husband?

StraightJacket · 08/08/2013 18:24

Any relatives been to visit who wear them?

Apart from that, I would assume kids or their friends. Or do you have any other reasons to think he could be cheating?
