Someone had suggested 'Dodi.'

What's disappointed me about this thread is that people are calling the Op names , saying nasty things etc. because they don't agree with her view...how is that acceptable? Disagree, challenge yes ..great, that's what we like here but don't accuse someone of being "vile" by being nasty yourself.. I disagree with a lot of statements here but that doesn't mean I'm right..and it also doesn't mean I'm justified in flinging accusations around. I'm not saying everybody should play nice just saying the "I can be horrible about you because I disagree with you" approach is juvenile

That is not it, Bunt. Clearly not. It is the fact that Dodi was a hard pill for the royals to swallow, and they probably wouldn't ever care to hear his name again, so a GS named Dodi would be a bit awkward. Yes? It is not rocket science, neither is it the world's funniest joke, but it is slightly amusing for us, republicans, at least. It is not really offensive and MNHQ agrees.

I'm so glad that you se to think you are so superior (there is irony). I'm not hugely bothered about the whole republic/monarchy debate and wouldn't dislike someone for not wanting a monarchy. To wax their own. I would say this thread was poor taste and the sarcasm and bitterness that I've only seen in the posts pro republic haven't made me want to listen. I did pop onto (lurk) the republic thread and found it more of the same, shame as I didnt think my points were showing I was thick or crazed. Clearly that's how perceived.
