Last couple of days, mild, warm, overcast with spells of sunshine, a fair breeze. Not exactly a heatwave though? South east btw

It's boiling here in Yorkshire! I am melting.

wibblyjelly · 11/07/2013 13:29

I'm in London and the start of the week was definitely a heat wave. It's cooled down now though.

annabelcaramel · 11/07/2013 13:29

I think it's just relative to what's gone before.....the eternal winter that seemed to have existed forever.

Sirzy · 11/07/2013 13:29

I am in the north west and it is very warm and sunny, very little cloud

PatsyAndEddy · 11/07/2013 13:30

30oC here on Tuesday, it's not went below 26 since then.

Central Scotland - most definatly a heat wave!

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 11/07/2013 13:30

Well, we definitely are! Northern Ireland.
It's been 28 degrees here most days since last week. Was supposed to be cooler today, but isn't. I haven't seen a cloud in ages!
It's totally brilliant. Grin

Meglet · 11/07/2013 13:30

Yanbu. It's 22 here today and they have the air con on in the office Angry. We're in cardigans.

Around 95 degrees plus is a heatwave for me. This is simply 'not cold'.

DocMarten · 11/07/2013 13:32

Agree, it was hot at the weekend and monday, maybe that is why it feels cooler, but when I think of a long lasting heatwave, I am thinking of the summer of 76 type thing, and it is def not that! You know the heat you cannot sleep at night, no breeze, huge cracking thunder storms and back to heat again. That is what I call a heatwave.

I'm just outside of London. It was very blowy here yesterday and intbe evening I was quite chilly.

Today is pleasant but no, not a heat wave to me

TarkaTheOtter · 11/07/2013 13:45

It's pretty hot here in the South West.

Lj8893 · 11/07/2013 13:45

Weekend and beginning of the week was very very hot here (south west) but has cooled down now and there's a nice breeze.

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 11/07/2013 13:48

It's been pretty hot here in the NW! Think you've been unlucky/lucky depending on your point of view. we've been melting here even on the school run!

Pigsmummy · 11/07/2013 13:50

It's been very hot for several days, it has been 26-29C in Surrey, that it exceptionally hot and it is forecast to continue, is that not a heat wave? Are you disappointed?

livinginwonderland · 11/07/2013 13:51

Well, we were last week! It's cooled down now but from about Friday-Wednesday it was pretty hot.

DocMarten · 11/07/2013 13:51

yes, I am disappointed tbh. I love proper long hot sunny days, and this is just not a heatwave to me.

Having spent the better part of two weeks in a cubicle of an old isolation ward at our local hospital, this meant no opening available on the windows and the cubicle door only open for brief periods YABU

YoniBottsBumgina · 11/07/2013 14:02

I don't think it's a proper heatwave either. It's been nice and warm and sunny, though. The wind was cold this morning.

orangeandemons · 11/07/2013 14:10

Boiling her in S Yorks. Only yesterday was coolish, the rest have been red hot

specialsubject · 11/07/2013 14:28

depends where you live. Scorching here in Shropshire.

RainbowCake · 11/07/2013 14:29

YANBU as I think it is not a heatwave, but that we have had such crappy weather for the last couple of years that it is classed as such.

Roll back 10 years and we would have just called it SummerGrin

ILikeBirds · 11/07/2013 14:51

Yanbu, sunny here but high of 19.3 (Notts). Hardly heatwave temps.

noblegiraffe · 11/07/2013 14:54

I don't like long hot sunny days, you can have mine.

I went to Argos yesterday to buy another fan and they had sold out of all except one that cost £45. I debated buying it.

dexter73 · 11/07/2013 14:54

I class anything over 20C as a heatwave! (In England anyway!)

Madeyemoodysmum · 11/07/2013 14:56

Its sunny and it's not raining, why complain?
