Bought sani-pads and panty liners (yuk to their name!) only to discover there has been some kind of Magic Tree collaboration that I was not aware of.

Why on earth would I want my foof to smell like I'd given it the once over with the Shake and Vac?

Very Confused

(PS: I'm not touting for advice about mooncups - already own one Wink)

YADNBU. I struggle to find non-scented these days unless I do a shop at Asda or another big shop. PITFA.

scented ones give me the itch. On heavy days I go for Tesco cheapo maternity pads. Last month I made dh go and buy an armful. He came back crimson. 'I'm never buying your female products again' he hissed, 'the check out woman congratulated me on the birth of our baby'

Nothing worse than 'natural smells' masked by synthetic floral fragrances.

Bit like poo-with-hint-of-rose in your loo.

Try Lillets ones. No smell and the night time ones have front wings and back wings

Wonder why only womens bits are considered smelly enough to require pongy pads and fanjo wipes.Surely they are missing a huge male market. Could have testifresh wipes and bollocky breeze sprays. For that fresh as a daisy scrote

Meddie, its been done. I bring you FRESHBALLS!

(they also launched Fresh Breasts by 'popular demand')

Bought scented panty liners after searching the boots aisle for ages for unscented and will be binning them. My bathroom cabinet reeks of nasty cheapy 'scent'. Hate it.
Like wings though.

I bought a job lot of always when they were on offer and took no notice of the scent thing, but I hate them.

Blood does have an odor, but in the 20 years of I've had periods, I've never felt smelly. I wash and change regularly and it does the job. These bloody pads turn into horrible stink bombs when they mix the scent with period blood.

I'm a bit gutted though. Always was a brand that just seemed to fit me properly, the others always seemed to leak on me or bunch up. I really don't relish the thought of traipsing around to find another make Sad

I have a mooncup, but sometimes I am in too much pain to use it for the first day - scented always are disgusting - I bought them unwittingly and will now buy a shop's own brand in future.

Hasn't anyone told the marketing men that they have now singled out women on their periods making them completely obvious by smell? Maybe the idea is for men not to get chatting to a 'glade' woman at the bar as they probably wouldn't get their leg over Hmm?

Are there any completely unscented, guaranteed not to make you itch brands? I'm a mooncup user, but like to have a secondary line of defence for a few days. Used to love Always, but pre-scented airing cupboard supplies are now exhausted :(

Lil-lets have always been good for me FourArms Apparently their tampons expand widthways as opposed to Tampax going long.

I really can't understand how these companies can sell something almost deliberately designed to give women thrush? And we PAY for it! More fool the women who do Sad

The other week I had to rush to Boots for emergency tampons and the only ones they had were bloody scented cue me at our BBQ later that evening half-cut and making every female there smell my box of tampons whilst loudly voicing my concerns about them being "guaranteed thrush"

This thread has given me the confidence to try pads again after the whole nappy rash debacle.

Loads of you say they make you itch so perhaps I am just having the same, but more extreme, reaction to them. I just assumed it was something in san pro generally that I reacted to.

I'm off to tesco tomorrow to try own brand product. The Always designers need a good talking to!

The smell of these new scented pads makes me really gag.

I'll have to have a read through the whole thread now to find out which ones are genuinely unscented.

Disgusting. They make me itch, and the smell is foul. Feminist rant! Why on earth should we have to wear scented towels, as if our own natural smell is so hideous?

Report
FourArms · 10/07/2013 21:37

I use baby cloth nappy liners over Always to avoid the itch factor. Very :( that we've come so far but now disposable options are being removed. Maybe Always have bought Canesten???
