Why do some of the comments posted have to get quite so bitchy?

I must be naive, but have been shocked at some of the bitchy comments posted by others on here, really new to this, and its quite fascinating how there are people who seem to search out others and keep replying to their threads with just bitchy comments? What has happened to good old debate? Happy to learn, to be given more information so I can maybe reform my initial opinion. Now i am wondering How do these people respond when their family say something they disagree on? Do they swear at them? Hope not! So please don't reply to this thread unless you are going to be reasonable about it.

Bye. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. I don't want to have to clean the glass.*

Now that* was bitchy. See the difference?

Mumsnet is littered with bitchyness and some people love ganging up to belittle others. Has been the same for years. Get over it and move on. Lots of lovely mnetters too.

Sparklingbrook · 06/07/2013 15:50

"don't reply to this thread unless you are going to be reasonable about it."

Fuck that for a game of soldiers.

  1. you cannot police the Internet
  2. you cannot determine what is "reasonable" as this isn't your site.
  3. MNHQ and only MNHQ set the rules for this site
  4. they also have somewhat different tolerance levels for robustness in AIBU compared to elsewhere
  5. if you want a non-sweary site, then you'd better go and join (or found one)
  6. whinging about the norms of a site, on that site, where members are (unsurprisingly) happy with that site, shows a distinct lack of awareness of impact.
YouStayClassySanDiego · 06/07/2013 15:51

Oh dear, stop being a drama llama and enjoy what MN has to offer.

Ignore any perceived bitchiness and lighten up.
