...to be fed up of ex's partner copying me word for word on Facebook

Simatmum · 29/06/2013 17:32

It's trivial I know, but every time I write a comment, the bloody woman copies what I have written. Don't want to start a row on other people's statuses, and she's blocked from mine. Tried dismissing it, writing a comment and putting copyright sign at the end as a joke, writing complicated words (she hasn't copied them!), but I get the impression she is trying to goad me into saying something. I don't often see her face to face, thank goodness. Don't have any issues about her living with ex - she's more than welcome! Any constructive suggestions?

Write something that when she copies it will make her look v stupid and then delete it off yours.

RiotsNotDiets · 29/06/2013 17:54

You could block her entirely so she can't see what you've put?

JennySense · 29/06/2013 17:55

If you've blocked her then you shouldn't be seeing any of her updates? And she won't be able to see any of yours.
Check she's on your blocked list in your fb privacy settings and move on.

Block her Confused

How old are you both?

usualsuspect · 29/06/2013 17:56

How can you see her statuses if you have blocked her?

MammaTJ · 29/06/2013 17:57

I like minibmw2010s idea. She obviously has someone showing her your updates if she is blocked.

MammaTJ · 29/06/2013 17:57

As you do too. If you can see what she has put.

AnAirOfHope · 29/06/2013 17:57

Let it go, not worth your time. Just pity her and leave her to it.

I agree with pp,block her. Life is too short.

LineRunner · 29/06/2013 17:58

Write 'My Ex's partner keeps copying me.'

Or 'My Ex smells of Readybrek when he gets excited.'

Simatmum · 29/06/2013 18:02

I can't see her statuses, but she's there on those of family members. She does seem to be a sandwich short of a picnic. I've tried ignoring her, and writing something ridiculous, but that brings me down to her level. I can only block her from my Facebook, not family's. Don't want to cause a rift or make others uncomfortable, but she seems to be exploiting this.

If you block her you won't be able to see what she writes on anyones statuses.

usualsuspect · 29/06/2013 18:07

On anyones fb I mean.

You won't see her on fb at all, so you haven't blocked her if you can still see what she writes on family members FB walls.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 29/06/2013 18:07

You can change your settings so you don't see anything from her, that way you won't know what she's putting.

Or you could just ignore her. She isn't harming you in any way by doing what she's doing and fb posts have times on them so it will be clear to anyone who sees both that she is putting the same thing after you.

Just laugh at her and put it out of your mind.

Just think it through. She repeats your fb status and then what ? what happens?

Nothing.

WorraLiberty · 29/06/2013 18:07

If you can see her, you haven't blocked her.

I think you know that though and are just playing a silly little game.

Forget her and forget your ex.

Simatmum · 29/06/2013 18:08

She's definitely blocked. Just checked. I thought that would do the trick, but her comments are there on others' statuses. I don't want to be driven off FB, but it's unpleasant seeing how she copies my words. Feels like low level stalking.

As far as I understand it, if you have her completely blocked it will be as though she is invisible. Nothing she posts anywhere on anyone's fb will be seen by you. It does not require other people to block her on their fb.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 29/06/2013 18:09

click on her comment and bring up the menu. It should give you the option to hide all posts by her.

usualsuspect · 29/06/2013 18:09

You haven't blocked her then.

usualsuspect · 29/06/2013 18:10

If you can see her from your FB, she is not blocked

WorraLiberty · 29/06/2013 18:10

You haven't blocked her

HildaOgden · 29/06/2013 18:11

What sort of things is she copying

Snazzywaitingforsummer · 29/06/2013 18:12

Put absolute nonsense as your status for a bit. If anyone asks why, you can answer honestly!

Simatmum · 29/06/2013 18:14

I'm indifferent to ex, divorced him years ago. Will check again if I can change settings so I don't see her posts, presumably that means she won't see mine? (Not au fait with privacy/security, just relying on what others have shown me). Thanks for the suggestions.
