to feel let down by mumsnet

A friend has been raving about mumsnet and said that i should join as it is "like talking to friends who are supportive, friendly and who give sound advice." I have been lurking on mn and have been reading lots of threads and have been put off from starting a thread myself because i found some of the replies really quite un friendly (to say the least) and some sound quite rude. I realize that mn prides its self on being a 'no nonsense' type of forum and life isnt all flowers and fluffy clouds, and that sometimes the truth isnt always 'nice' but i was quite shocked at some of the 'un sisterly' comments.

It is a very straight talking forum - sometimes too much so. Maybe you have been reading the wrong threads though - there is lots of support usually for people who make it clear they really need it.

I agree with you. I drift in and out. It can be horrible, but also funny.

Could MNHQ come on after a while and say if the op isnt genuine.
That would solve the problem wouldnt it?

Or perhaps it takes a couple of days for them to know for sure yay or nay.

"Unsisterly" comments? my sister is ruder to me than many of my friends! I still love her though but sister and calling a spade a spade go together in my book.
If you don't like it then the internet has plenty more sites. I sometimes go on sites and think "not for me". I don't leave a rude message though as that just makes me look like a pillock as there are obviously folk who like those sites.
It's OK not to like something. It's not OK to then abuse people who like something different to you. Just walk away, the world is a big place.

Today I have been on a 🚲 ride, watched the 🏈 🐆

DD was a bit of a 🐄 at times but on the whole, OK. The 🐶 needs a 🛁 after rolling in fox 💩 and I am just too 😴 to keep this up.
