Can you imagine what the Summertime Ball was like at Wembley on Sunday?

Thousands upon thousands of duck faces!!!!! Seas of them!!!!

YouTheCat · 11/06/2013 11:10

The correct response to a duckface photo on facebook is to comment 'Quack! Bang! Duck hunting!' Grin

MarmaladeTwatkins · 11/06/2013 11:10

Oh YES, one of my younger relatives does this on FB. My finger is hovering over "delete friend" on most days...

Duck face teamed with head tilted severly to side, hand on hip. I think they are trying to emulate the favoured 'sleb' pose but most slebs aren't orange teenagers clad from top to toe in neon Primark.

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2013 11:12

wordfactory, that's called a snapback!

Lot's of duck faces on DD's FB. And other weird photoshoppingConfused

Morloth · 11/06/2013 11:14

That thing they do where they hold the camera up, tilt the head and do the duckface is fantastic. Grin

I can't talk though, I had a fringe that was a good foot high at one point in the early 90s.

SingingSilver · 11/06/2013 11:15

I don't think selfies will die out until the likes of Rihanna and Kim Kardashian move on.

My nephew and his friends used to call those girls 'bebo stunners'. Apparently that's where the duckface selfies originated?

Of course most of them will convince themselves they're only being ironic Wink If you're posting selfies every single day it's not ironic, it's an addiction!

plainjaney · 11/06/2013 11:16

I know a duck face and she's in her 30's....it's hilarious really. My DD is 15 and finds the whole thing hysterical, especially as the more 'duckier' the face the 'oranger' the girl ;)

Panzee · 11/06/2013 11:19

There used to be something very similar called a MySpace Face.

Sparklingbrook · 11/06/2013 11:19

This sums it up. Grin

MrsFruitcake · 11/06/2013 11:24

Not just teenagers, my friend's 11 year old does it too, and then posts the pics all over her FB profile for her friends to ooh and ahh over. Hmm

mrsjay · 11/06/2013 11:27

K K the queen of the duck face is she not in her mid 30s she needs to stop it now Grin

sparechange · 11/06/2013 11:29

YouTheCat - or as I saw someone else reply to a duckface photo "Would you mind if I throw bits of bread at you?"
Genius! Grin

mrsjay · 11/06/2013 11:29

they all say things aww you is gawjuss BBBEZ Confused I think this is why I have no teens (except my own) on facebook I did have a relatives kids but i deleted them it was driving me insane they are twins and they have duck face in stereo

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 11/06/2013 11:30

For best effect, duck face should be accompanied by a status reading 'looking really wierd but oh well' and then 47 likes and 68 comments saying
ur too prettyyyyyyy
i'm not babes but thanks xxxx

mrsjay · 11/06/2013 11:32

I love that theoriginal obviously they have spent hours doing their make up and hair and then just happen to take a Random photie

MarmaladeTwatkins · 11/06/2013 11:35

SteamingNit, that is SO TRUE.

My duckface relative posted about 1000000000000 pictures of herself in her bikini (which she looked amazing in, btw Envy) saying "I rly wish mum wudnt take pix of me in my bikini lukin so fat" WTF?! She is about a size 4 and posting pictures on FB isn't compulsory, you donut.

SingingSilver · 11/06/2013 12:03

SteamingNit You're so right!! Just this morning I checked twitter and a friend of mine had posted a selfie with the caption 'No make-up, ugh, but just checking in with everyone x' She was sitting in her car, hair perfect, and (I've seen her in the mornings) full make-up and neutral lids. She was only missing eyeshadow and liner. There were loads of 'You look gorgeous as always babe' replies.

I didn't reply anything. I knew she was looking for an ego boost and I wasn't in the mood!

LadyBeagleEyes · 11/06/2013 12:08

Aw, with young teens it's quite sweet and funny, it makes me laugh.
Most of them will grow out of it and look back and think WTF was I thinking, as we all do when we look back on our teenage years.

no idea what your on about my poodle perm was gawjus Grin

Sparklingbrook · 11/06/2013 12:12

The teenagers nowadays will have so many pictures of themselves to look at when they are older. There are very few of me as a teenager. Sad

MarmaladeTwatkins · 11/06/2013 12:16

Sparkling, don't feel badly about that. Cameras hadn't been invented when you were a teen but I bet you've got some lovely oil paintings of yourself somewhere, eh?

Sparklingbrook · 11/06/2013 12:17

Grin Marmalade.

mrsjay · 11/06/2013 12:19

did we have a pose ? I am in my 40s I am sure we must have had a pose there is a few of me with the bloody perm casually leaning on walls and benches ,

Sparklingbrook · 11/06/2013 12:19

I don't think I did mrsjay. YY to various positions on benches IIRC.

ChubbyKitty · 11/06/2013 12:21
