Yabu. I cannot get out to buy lemonade to go with my gin :(

FryOneFatManic · 09/06/2013 19:48

All this talk about gin!

No, sorry, it's got to be a rich, dark rum Grin

AaDB · 09/06/2013 19:50

Aldi gin (sorry for lowering the tone). Slimline tonic, lime frozen in ice cube and extra lime.

I live a lot of the suggestions and I'm going to try blackcurrant and lemo. I have Chambord and cassis in...

I love a nice Tom Collins.

AaDB · 09/06/2013 19:51

I don't live the suggestions, I love them. Wink

ifancyashandy · 09/06/2013 19:52

Sipsmiths Gin
Lime / cucumber
Fever Tree slimline tonic
Ice

All is well with the world.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/06/2013 19:57

Yes, Aldi gin all the way

I keep mine in the freezer too.

openerofjars · 09/06/2013 19:58

Right. Pink gin.

Clean cold glass, half pint size, dribble a few drops of angostura bitters in, swirl around the glass and then chuck out (only coat the inside of the glass as angosturas are a trifle toxic in quantity, or so I'm told. But then so is gin Wink )

Fill glass to brim with ice, take a slice of lime and rub it around the rim of the glass. Squeeze the slice into the ice-filled glass and drop it in.

One shot or two of tanqueray, or Bombay Sapphire.

Fill any remaining space with tonic: Schweppes is perfectly fine, slimline not.

Mint leaf, cucumber slice, two black straws and tiny black cocktail napkin optional.

You're welcome!

LifeSavedbyLego · 09/06/2013 19:59

Definately fevertreemand Hendricks here. I can skip the cucumber though.

AtYourCervix · 09/06/2013 20:11

Fab suggestions here - shame I'm on the wagon due to a crippling V Low cal diet

cardibach · 09/06/2013 20:42

I like Brecon gin with tonic, ice and lime.

Botanica · 09/06/2013 20:42

Hendricks, slimline tonic, cucumber ribbons, ice and a grind of black pepper to finish. Heaven...

MrsCosmopilite · 09/06/2013 20:44

I have gin, I have tonic. No ice, no lemon. Got lime cordial, will that do?

DianaTrent · 09/06/2013 20:55

Fevertree and hendricks for me too. You realise I am going to have to have one now, which I wasn't planning, but YAstillNBU.

BarredfromhavingStella · 09/06/2013 20:58

Nothing other than cucumber with Hendricks & lime with everything else, never lemon-'tis shite... As for no ice-WTAF??? Shock

Allalonenow · 09/06/2013 21:30

Yes, that will be super MrsC, years ago gin and Roses lime cordial was THE summer drink.

Lovely post about pink gin, which I often have as a more winter drink, or if funds are low and not much else in. I don't throw out the Angostura though, as I think that is a waste, I just drink it down.

I also use the bitters in cooking, and I have an historical personal link with the company, so I don't feel I am living dangerously!!

Slimline tonic or lemonade in gin is the work of the devil would not be to my taste.

Prosecco deserves an entire thead to itself.

jammiedonut · 09/06/2013 21:33

Sainsburys sell fever tree. It's expensive as you can only buy in little bottles but definitely worth it

dandycandyjellybean · 09/06/2013 21:36

Another one here drinking Aldi gin. And Aldi tonic. And Aldi Oranges, Lemons and Limes, all sliced up with lots of ice. Not much tonic though, and lots of gin. Sublime.
