To think this woman should have shaved her arse?

I've just been into town and in the shopping centre had to use the escalator. In front of me was a woman I would say in her 30s wearing a pair of those stupidly short shorts with her arse cheeks hanging out and they were hairy! I'm talking thick, black pubicky hair.
I nearly brought my breakfast up. AIBU to think if you are going to wear those type of shorts you should at least shave your arse first?

Soupdragon that's what I think too.

SoupDragon · 08/06/2013 13:36

Well, no - you think she should have shaved her pubic hair off. That's not the same at all.

LadyBeagleEyes · 08/06/2013 13:36

So you were behind her?
So not her pubes then, just hairs sprouting out of her arse?
Did she have hairy legs too, sorry I'm, just trying to picture this.
Most female bottoms are hairless, aren't they?
Oh and I agree with Salmo, this thread is a goer with comedy gold unless somebody reports- Grin.

Branleuse · 08/06/2013 13:36

daisy dukes didn't even look good on daisy duke let alone random women in the town centre with hairy arses.
theyre obscene. if you can see pubes then it's barely underwear let alone outerwear and its grim grim grim.

digerd · 08/06/2013 13:37

A woman with hairy buttocks - well I never! I'd have just looked away if it offended me.

And that her "arse cheeks were hanging out", I find confusing, as hanging implies "down", and a fine pair of peachy buttocks would be more likely to be "bulging out". I am having difficulty imagining a picture of this bum. Just as intrigued by the shape of her bum as its hairiness Grin

Fenton · 08/06/2013 13:37

I hate those butt hanging out shorts, hairy arse or not and I don't care how fat or skinny the butt is, - if the curve of the butt is visible it's yuk IMO.

Morloth · 08/06/2013 13:37

It is weird that the HAIR is offensive. Why?

Someone explain to me why female hair is so horrific.

SirRaymondClench · 08/06/2013 13:41

Ok so she didn't have the peachiest of bums and it was fairly saggy, her buttocks were hanging down and she had shaved her legs by the look of it but her buttocks were very hairy.
Soupdragon if she wasn't going to wear bigger shorts then yes I do think she should shave her arse. If I am going to wear a skirt or shorts I make sure my legs are hair free.

Fenton · 08/06/2013 13:41

I'm not to keen on some male hair either - the stuff on the back, and the fluffy bit going from the top of the swim shorts to the navel.

dunno why.

SirRaymondClench · 08/06/2013 13:43

Morloth who knows but rightly or wrongly we live in a society where women shave their legs etc. However I don't really want to see a man's hairy arse hanging out either.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 08/06/2013 13:44

It's a matter of personal taste Morloth, not necessarily horrific.

Iamsparklyknickers · 08/06/2013 13:44

Why offensive? Because body hair is a masculine trait and we're socially conditioned to want women to be as feminine as possible? Although I suppose we've started seeing it as highly unhygienic as well in the last couple of decades so hairy men are getting in on it too. Arse hair implies dingleberrys to me personally....

{shrugs} either way I'm not about to start making a stand by letting my glorious gorilla self grow out naturally. I'm far to sensitive to peer pressure for that!

Salmotrutta · 08/06/2013 13:46

she didn't have the peachiest of bums and it was fairly saggy

Hmm
Iamsparklyknickers · 08/06/2013 13:47

ohh Fenton I love a treasure trail - I like a good hairy chest as well though.

cheerfulweather · 08/06/2013 13:48

I'm guessing her backside would have offended you had it been hair-free, and you'd still have posted here about it. Yabu.

DressageCriminal · 08/06/2013 13:49

I wonder if this is how it started for baboons?

Iamsparklyknickers · 08/06/2013 13:50

Baboons in hotpants?

SirRaymondClench · 08/06/2013 13:50

Salmontrutta for the record I don't have the peachiest of bums either and mines pretty saggy too, but I don't have mine hanging out in public.
I replied to someone asking how I could see the hair on her arse when she was wearing shorts.

WhereDoAllTheCalculatorsGo · 08/06/2013 13:51

Why do you think you should make sure you're hair-free SirRaymond?
Did anyone ever die from having hairy legs (or buttocks for that matter)?
Is it illegal, might you get arrested or thrown in jail if they are hairy?
No. It's just the current societal construct that defines our idea of 'beauty'.
And now you'll get a pile of posters who say that they wax and shave and want to be hair-less because they feel better and it's just for them, not for society etc etc.

VerySmallSqueak · 08/06/2013 13:52

I'm surprised you didn't have a proper showdown with her there and then.

When I don't get round to shaving my legs I assume that no one else in the general population would take such a...ahem... unhealthy interest in my body and my failings in keeping up with societies 'norms'.

Why do you care so?

Tbh as well it's got to be a bit of a PITA to shave you're own bum.....

DressageCriminal · 08/06/2013 13:52

No, baboons with hairy arses that offended others.

ENormaSnob · 08/06/2013 13:53

Hairs are not offensive.

Arses hanging from too short shorts are.

DressageCriminal · 08/06/2013 13:54

Oh, I agree with that Norma

Peachy or not.

SirRaymondClench · 08/06/2013 13:56

No you're right I suppose. I should immediately stop shaving my legs and armpit hair and go natural rather than conforming to what society expects. And I should wear the skimpiest of clothing so everyone can see me at my hairy best.

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 08/06/2013 13:56

Male. Female.

I don't want to see pubes in the shopping centre. If that makes me weird, so be it.
