As per the bbc.

Aibu?

I expect I probably am.

I feel your pain. I do not wish to see Louise Mensch's smug face looking at me unless I specifically go searching for her - which I will never do.

Kleptronic · 04/06/2013 21:36

YANBU. That Mensch woman's tipped me over the edge. Itchy teeth.

deleted203 · 04/06/2013 21:36

Possibly. If we have to pay, then the poor among us (including myself) will probably bugger off. Can't afford it.

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/06/2013 21:39

Nope, I'll stick with the adverts thank you.
Paying would just make MN elitist IMO.

Mintyy · 04/06/2013 21:39

I do appreciate that, sowornout. Perhaps we could have a pay according to means thing?

OP posts:
IKnowWhat · 04/06/2013 21:39

I don't mind the ad's or the surveys but I could do without Louise Mensch.

Startail · 04/06/2013 21:54

I run the mobile site on an iphone or kindle fire. One add at very very very bottomyou never need to see.

joanofarchitrave · 04/06/2013 21:55

MN used to be a subscription site. We didn't pay enough. Justine et al deserve to make a living.

HollyBerryBush · 04/06/2013 21:55

Mumsnet has had it's day. There must be a site with normal people who just want to chat and laugh with out the right on leftie hysteria.

MalcolmTuckersMum · 04/06/2013 21:58

Holly! Shock

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/06/2013 22:00

So why do you come on it so much then, Holly?

CloudsAndTrees · 04/06/2013 22:01

YABU. I have been on here for a couple of years, have only just discovered surveys, have no idea who this Louise woman is, and I couldn't care less about adverts.

KEEP MUMSNET FREE!!!

Kneedeepindaisies · 04/06/2013 22:02

< sits down next to Malcolm.>

HollyBerryBush · 04/06/2013 22:03

So why do you come on it so much then, Holly?

Simply because I cant find anywhere as fast paced and with a mix of subjects. And because my RL friends also post so we can chew the cud over some threads.

MalcolmTuckersMum · 04/06/2013 22:05

Yes Knee, it's salted Grin

Mintyy · 04/06/2013 22:10

If possible I'd like this thread to remain on topic and not be de-railed by Holly.

When did people pay a subscription Joan and how much was it?

OP posts:
MalcolmTuckersMum · 04/06/2013 22:12

Bit snidey to single out one person for the so called derailment Minty. You may have started the thread, you do not own it.

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/06/2013 22:15

I'm honestly oblivious to the adverts.
I think a lot of newbies would click on to the site, see they had to pay and not come back.
There's so many other free websites they can go on.

Kneedeepindaisies · 04/06/2013 22:16

I don't think Holly derailed it. She offered her opinion.

Maybe you should post this in Site Stuff instead.

Mintyy · 04/06/2013 22:21

Fair enough, I'll leave you all to your popcorn.

OP posts:
VBisme · 04/06/2013 22:24

I'm glad it's free, don't mind the ads

MrsRambo · 04/06/2013 22:29

I have to say the thought of a subscription has never occurred to me, but then again I had never read anything by that Menschy lady till this evening ....

You might be on to something OP.

PS is it wrong/shallow to have clicked on her photo to try and get a closer look at the jacket she was wearing? because i thought my DP might like me in it Grin

LEMisdisappointed · 04/06/2013 22:33

I don't mind the ads, i hardly notice them and i don't know who louise mench is!

BobblyGussets · 04/06/2013 22:39

OP, don't go. I am sick of the ads. They are shit and really unamusing and really slow the computer down. I also really dislike the elastoplast one at the top about the rainy summers; It's not funny.

BobblyGussets · 04/06/2013 22:40

Sorry, too many "really"s.
