I am guessing this thread might upset some people but really...? DH and i were shocked to learn someone we know is breastfeeding a child who can walk and speak and self determine...dh wouldn't discuss it over lunch...

you'd have to rip your own brain out if you visited me and my 2yr 4mth old - when do you want to come - oh do come round :)

yabu - it is sweet FA to do with you - you sound like you have a repulsively narrow mind

When pg with dc1 I remember seeing a small child bfing, and saying to my friend at the time that he seemed too old to do that as he could walk. Dc1 comes along a few months later, and happily fed for at least a year after he could walk - it's easy to have opinions about bf when you aren't actually bfing anyone, it all seems a lot more natural when it's your baby and you understand what they want and need!
I also thought dummies were gross and reins unnecessary. And thought I'd use cloth nappies. You live and learn Grin

Dog shit on the pavement is repulsive. Breast feeding your infant is natural, healthy behaviour. I suggest you check out the definition of repulsive, and while you're about it, look up stupid.

LaChaiseVerte · 31/05/2013 23:37

Hahaha.

Please do get over it. Unless they're asking you to get involved, your opinion needs to be kept to yourself.

There are so, so many distressing things to be shocked/repulsed/worried by, it really is a ridulous waste of your energy to give brain space to the feelings you experience on hearing an acquaintance is using her mammary glands for their primary physiological purpose.

Lol, people who say bf a toddler is 'forcing' them Grin Really!!??? Can anybody really force a toddler to do any damn thing! Grin

Hmm

A child feeding to a natural healthy age that's well within the age range humans are designed to breastfeed for is repulsive to you?

But a baby drinking the milk of an animal as far removed from us physiologically as a cow or goat is perfectly normal?

Let me guess, your husband is one of those fine specimens who believes breasts are sexual accessories Biscuit

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 31/05/2013 23:41

Feenie moron? Explain.

Oh god Maryz! 'nawzyated' just made me spit my drink across the monitor! Grin

PostmanPatAlwaysRingsTwice · 31/05/2013 23:45

This is the OP gossiping about discussing the issue of breastfeeding an infant with her weak-stomached DH.

It's depressing but there are probably quite a lot of people as narrow minded and ignorant as this.

kohl · 31/05/2013 23:45

ROAR at 'dh wouldn't discuss it over lunch'. You guys sound like a RIOT.

I really hope this is a joke.

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 31/05/2013 23:45

maryz.... Don't forget sikkened and dysterbed

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 31/05/2013 23:46

TSC why?

I'm being sarcastic to the OP's view of being too old to BF.

Jeez, some people.

Oh, and 'twat' yourself.

Feenie · 31/05/2013 23:46

Work it out for yourself, OhNoYouDon't.
