I am guessing this thread might upset some people but really...? DH and i were shocked to learn someone we know is breastfeeding a child who can walk and speak and self determine...dh wouldn't discuss it over lunch...

OP posts:

BTW ds2 could walk at 9mths and he talked by 18mths.

Ds1 was walking at 12mths and talking in sentences by 18mths and he bfed at that age as well.

the post above should say bfed... Bloody auto correct.

crumblepie · 31/05/2013 23:29

Well stop feed it then.

Oh, it's not your child,

so has bog all to do with you then.

interesting name OP, for such a negative limited attitude.

RabbitFromAHat · 31/05/2013 23:30

Was it a two year old German Shepherd, or something? Because, if so, well that's quite outré, of course.

Hmm

Lol indeed Grin

As you say op the child can self determine...ergo the child chooses to bfeed.

AlbertoFrog · 31/05/2013 23:31

I thought I'd stop breastfeeding DS at 6 months. He's now 2 and a half.

Glad I'm still shocking people at my age.

Or is just that you know the person involved?

Really hate the eewww breast milk opinion like its something disgusting. Some of my family seem to think its fine but at 6 months old that's the cut off point and after that its just 'creepy, weird or disgusting'. I just think ffs grow up, its milk made for infant humans its not disgusting.

YABVU and judgy!

Biscuit and one for your DH Biscuit.

Tell me, would it be ok for same walking talking self determining toddler to go to bed each night with a drink of cows milk in a cup or bottle?

'dh wouldn't discuss it over lunch'

Maybe he was busy re-evaluating his life choices.

Before I had children I was a little squeamish about bf-related discussions. Thankfully I am now far less ignorant, and happy to leave each to her own!

knackeredmother · 31/05/2013 23:33

Well I'm breastfeeding a 3 and a half year . I also tandem fed.
I really don't know where to start in re educating you and your husband. I am hoping this is a joke op.

mawbroon · 31/05/2013 23:33

What exactly was it you were wanting to discuss about it?

goodasgold · 31/05/2013 23:33

Your dh wouldn't discuss it over lunch...maybe the said cognitive child would be more articulate company.

5madthings · 31/05/2013 23:34

I wonder if the op and her husband drink cows milk...you know breast milk for a calf...

lowercase · 31/05/2013 23:34

I find the dairy industry unsettling and repulsive.
