You should have better photos than these?

same area

ArbitraryUsername · 31/05/2013 21:49

There is very little furniture in the house. Oddly little. There seems to be a whole empty bedroom.

Yolu · 31/05/2013 22:01

Thats common in the country I live in! most houses are on the market for a million plus and the photos often feature kids, dogs, piles of laundry, dirty dishes etc, a good estate agent could make a killing around here!

LEMisdisappointed · 31/05/2013 22:07

Picture 2 - it looks like iggle piggle has been murdered!

LEMisdisappointed · 31/05/2013 22:09

I don't think its a case of bad photography, although it isn't great, its just a crap house!

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 31/05/2013 22:54

I like the porny street name though......

lovesherdogstoomuch · 31/05/2013 23:15

one word-unbelievable. the Agent is at a fault and so is the occupier. crap. absolute crap. 1.3 mill. AS IF.

Oldraver · 31/05/2013 23:27

I thought it looked little more than a squat and what on earth is that by the bed...an empty perspex bin ?.

I also dislike beds with no proper covers or headboards, ok you can live without them but buy a throw or bedspread to cover the bed if your going to sell

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/05/2013 23:40

Blush NIGHTmare = my immediate thought was Linda Lovelace when I saw the name of the road.

Well it is Friday.......................................Grin

My guess is that the owners are getting divorced and one party has already moved out with the DCs and some of their things are still there for when they come to visit. Looks as if the husband (?) remaining in the house does not care about the sale or is obstructing the sale for whatever reason, may be because he will not be left with a lot of money from the sale.

ArbitraryUsername · 01/06/2013 08:17

I'd imagine there's a story. Yes.

I find houses where there's obviously an unhappy story as to why they're up for sale really depressing. When we were looking we saw some houses being sold by very obviously angry and bitter divorcing couples. It's quite horrible really.

pigletmania · 01/06/2013 08:29

There that's more like it

pigletmania · 01/06/2013 08:33

pigletmania · 01/06/2013 08:54

thefuturesnotourstosee · 01/06/2013 10:28

I like Pigletmainia's first link. Sadly I don't have two million pounds so I will have to dream.

I agree it looks like a house someone does not want to sale for one reason or another. We saw a couple like this when we were looking for ours. In fact in one house we viewed the owner followed us pointing out damp patches, wonky floors and telling us about a mouse infestation. That was 2 years ago and its still on the market Grin

TSSDNCOP · 01/06/2013 10:42

Isn't it a giant M&M on the radiator.

In Surbiton you could sell a kazi for 1.3m. I bet this has been occupied by students. There's loads of uni digs roundabout.

HollyBerryBush · 01/06/2013 10:45

It's all about location, location, location.

It's all very well giving links to stately piles up country - but no one would pay good money, no matter how nice the house, for somewhere, rural, no amenities, poor schools choices and a trek into London.

Surbition is slap bang in stockbroker belt.

Hence a 1 bed flat in a reasonable area of London is 300K, and you could buy a whole terrace in a pit village for that.

AlbertaCampion · 01/06/2013 10:50

karenblixen you took the words out of my mouth - I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a divorce sale, with the owner wanting to stay in the house as long as possible!

pigletmania · 01/06/2013 13:04

Holly Some of the most affluent parts of the uk are within Buckinghamshire, and it's commutable to London. Obviously a house is worth what people are prepared to pay!

Bvlgari · 01/06/2013 13:40

Terrible photos to try and sell a house and obviously a bit odd, looking at the second link with the other estate agent there are other better rooms that were photographed

But seriously, I would love that house
Look at the size of the garden!!
Its not v pretty but that is a typical style in that sw area

lljkk · 01/06/2013 13:53

I'd buy it, assuming that's what similar houses sell for. What a garden ! (swoon). Anything you guys don't like is just cosmetic.
