You should have better photos than these?

Spot the loo roll!

It is on with another agent here.

Better photos but still the bizarre red heart monstrosity on the radiator.

Jan49 · 31/05/2013 10:06

To me it looks like untidy tenants who have made some effort in general in the house but didn't manage to do the washing up in the kitchen. So the owners or agents need to arrange a new photo with a tidier kitchen.

I'd take toilet roll next to the bed to mean someone uses toilet roll instead of tissues or has run out of tissues. In each of our bedrooms there's a box of tissues next to the bed and not for any particularly gross purpose. Smile

That house for that price?!

I'm sooo glad I live in the NE!

Maat · 31/05/2013 10:07

Dsis bought a very expensive (due to location) home a few years ago which was presented in a similar way. It had been a family home for 30 years but the owners were getting divorced and selling up.

The wife did everything in her power to put buyers off as she obviously was trying to cling on to her family home.

It was really sad Sad

Well, grotty student hovel is a lifestyle. Not one I find enormously desirable, but it is a lifestyle.

sweetestcup · 31/05/2013 10:08

They could have at least opened the curtains!

Scruffey · 31/05/2013 10:10

I don't know the area but maybe there are a lot of people there with £1.3m and it's just a very expensive area. You would get a proper palace (or 4 very nice big detached houses) here for £1.3m!

oscarwilde · 31/05/2013 10:21

It's an expensive commuter belt area with VERY good schools. Tiffin Boys is one, and I think it's one of the top non-private schools in the country.
I suspect Maat has hit the nail on the head.

GetOrfMoiLand · 31/05/2013 10:24

What a horrible house. Not so much the slobby interior (which could understand if it is a forced sale) but the general ugly feel of the place.

bigTillyMint · 31/05/2013 10:29

Laurie, do you think a City biffer would live in a hovel like that?

It looks bad from the outside and even worse inside?

Maat · 31/05/2013 10:30

The house looks like a few small homes knocked together rather than a purpose built large home. The rooms & windows seem strangely small.

GetOrfMoiLand · 31/05/2013 10:33

I think it is more long term neglect and people who live like slobs rather than a forced move, however. Look at all the green on the drive. It seems like a house which hasn't been cared for for years.

1.3 bloody million quid for that to live in a good catchment? I would rather live in a prettier house and send the kids to sink schools.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 10:51

Looks so much better in the second link.

PatPig · 31/05/2013 10:57

How the fuck is that house worth £1.3m? This country is fucked.

Fakebook · 31/05/2013 11:00

Shock at the loo roll. I wonder why that's there

PatPig · 31/05/2013 11:01

Also you can't get into Tiffin Boys by buying a £1.3 million house.

Instead you need to send your child to a specialist tutor for several years and beat them if they don't study hard enough for the exam.

Ezza1 · 31/05/2013 11:01

Wow, what a difference a better camera/photographer makes looking at Annes link.

Still a monstrosity totally devoid of any personality though.

Love the way the big red heart thing is made a feature of in link 2 Grin

Veryunsure · 31/05/2013 11:03

1.3 mil? Good luck, it's grim.

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 31/05/2013 11:05

Well if none of u want it ill have it!!! :o it could have a toilet roll in every room for all I care. It's still bigger and better than my house!!!

hatchypom · 31/05/2013 11:14

I know that house as I walk past it every day. houses round here sell on square feet and of that size, rarely come up. It will sell and quickly !

neffi · 31/05/2013 11:15

It's five mins walk from Surbiton station with a 20 min fast train to London. It's in a very desirable location, tree lined avenue etc, lots of big houses. It's also an area where even small 3 bed houses sell for in excess of 500,000 pounds. It will sell at over a million easily. Sad but true.

I'd save myself quite a few £££'s and go for this house near me.

PatPig · 31/05/2013 11:24

You could live in other towns five minutes further from London for half the price.

PatPig · 31/05/2013 11:26

Also that house has apparently been on sale since April 2012.

Therefore whoever it is that is selling it, doesn't want to sell it.
