Triangles are only acceptable for toast. Sandwiches should be cut straight across tge middle. Mind, the right sandwich should be in a large round white floury bap which doesnt need cutting.

There is also a right and wrong way to hold a sandwich. not the weird way DS does it that drives me batty

I do squares unless I am trying to be posh, then it's triangles.

I once did a thread on carrot cutting. I am a luddite because I do circles sometimes.

Rectangles for savoury fillings.

Cut across the middle, all the crust on one side.

Never cut through the crust.

They have to be cut length wise so that each half has a bit if top crust and a bit of bottom crust.

They just look nicer, and I always cut off the crusts.

I cut mine in triangles, numbering 2. Husband's in rectangles. A Small Boy either triangles numbers 4 or squares, also numbering 4, depending on his mood.
