So I'm browsing in a clothes shop, DD spits her dummy out and it falls onto the floor and before I can grab it some random old woman picks it up, WIPES IT ON HER JACKET and goes, 'Here you go, lovely!' and sticks it straight back into her mouth!

Did she think wiping it on her manky stained fleecy cat-hair covered jacket was going to magically clean the germs off of it?

PFB or majorly BOAK?

Dummies are recommended by fSIDS to help prevent cot death. DD flatly refused one (in fact she refused all teats altogether) but I'd have loved her to have one.

Op YANBU, that is well manky and I would have been very mardy about it < from Yorkshire :)

At that age i carried a couple of spares just in case. YANBU. My pfb wouldn't take a dummy she sucked her thumb any suggestions on getting her to stop.

Dd1 had a dummy until she was just 3, only when she went to bed.

Dd2 sucked her thumb until she was 14!!! And she'd stick it in her mouth all the flipping time.

I know which one I prefer.

No help from me, sorry Jacks
