to be so happy that I live in a place where a very nice Chinese takeaway can be delivered to my door after a 1 minute phone call on a Sunday night?

and is indeed on its way now.

I know its not brilliant Sunday night fare but dh has been at work 8.30am to 8.30pm today.

I have given the dc breakfast, lunch and dinner (hm spaghetti carbonara, fresh fruit salad to follow as felt guilty about lack of vegetables thing).

I have also done the usual domestic chores (washing and pegging out and bringing in), tending to pets, playing cards with the dc, going to shops, and emptying and cleaning our bedroom which is being decorated starting tomorrow. Oh and posting a few times on Mumsnet.

Single handed.

I deserve a takeaway.

Shurely??

What did you order??

LovesBeingWokenEveryNight · 21/04/2013 21:11

Only if you share

StealthOfficialCrispTester · 21/04/2013 21:12

Protesting too much, go on, why are you really feeling guilty?

KatoPotato · 21/04/2013 21:12
HazeltheMcWitch · 21/04/2013 21:12

You do.
Have you ordered it yet? What did you/will you have?

I've not had a chinese for ages. I am in sticks, no delivery here.
I NEED mushroom chow mein, now I think of it.

JackieTheFart · 21/04/2013 21:12

Well I've had one. And I've done bog all and fed the DC mainly biscuits and cheese sandwiches.

Plus I'm on a diet. Which I've failed after 3 days Sad

Oh well, roll on tomorrow!

Laquila · 21/04/2013 21:13

I am well jel - I live 7 miles from the nearest takeaway and nowhere will deliver anything to our village.

Make the most of it, I say!

SirBoobAlot · 21/04/2013 21:14

Now I want Chinese.

moondog · 21/04/2013 21:16

Takeaways.
Meat of unspeakable provenenace coated in sugar and additive laden sauce.
Served in polystyrene.
It intrigues me that people view this as a treat.
I wouldn't eat a takeaway if I was paid to do so.

McNewPants2013 · 21/04/2013 21:16

What did you order.

who wants to faff about this time of the night cooking, then it all needs to be cleared away.

Cravingdairy · 21/04/2013 21:16

Why on earth shouldn't you? What difference does it make what day it is? I wish I could have one but I'm off soya just now and it's a hassle to avoid in takeaways. Waaah!

McNewPants2013 · 21/04/2013 21:19

moondog, because it taste good.

It doesn't.
It tastes foul, plays havoc with your blood sugar, and is bad for you.

scottishmummy · 21/04/2013 21:20

Yum.sometimes a takeaway really hits mark, esp if dh had 12+hr day
I have a drawer with the fave menu stuffed in
It's a great fall back

McNewPants2013 · 21/04/2013 21:21

you must have had some rubbish chinese take aways then.

FreudiansSlipper · 21/04/2013 21:23

my favourite from our Chinese is beef well I think it is in black bean sauce with extra extra chilli and chips they do great chips

I prefer Indian but Chinese is better when you have a hangover all those lovely chemicals yum yum

tethersend · 21/04/2013 21:24

You can order online at my local one, meaning you need not interact with another human being at all. As long as you get DP to answer the door.

Punkatheart · 21/04/2013 21:24

I love sweet and sour balls.

I also like Chinese food.

hugoagogo · 21/04/2013 21:26

It can be a wonderful thing. I grew up in the middle of nowhere, no offy, no takeaway just the post office and that was shut most of the time.

When I went to poly I just couldn't get over the fact if I ran out of milk at 7pm I could just go out and buy some. Shock

OhDearNigel · 21/04/2013 21:26

I've just got in from an unspeakably rubbish shift at work, put child to bed and have just ordered a pizza :) With extra crispy bacon :) :)

And just poured out about 3L of white wine Grin

scottishmummy · 21/04/2013 21:27

If i wanted healthy, freshly prepared no salt,no additives Id cook
When I want gloop, with salt, soy sauce and msg the takeaway hits mark
Thats the whole point, eat out of the tub,and reassuringly chemically...yum

TheHerringScreams · 21/04/2013 21:31

Mmm....Chinese....

I am happy that I currently live in London. Takeaways are always near. I had Thai two weeks.

monkeyfacegrace · 21/04/2013 21:32

My DH got out of bed just to go out and get us a lamb doner at midnight on Fri.

Sometimes its just gotta be done. Innit.
and we had leftovers for brekkie

LRDtheFeministDragon · 21/04/2013 21:32

moondog, you do get that some of us have takeaways not identical to whatever yours is like? And some of them have moved on from the 1980s dayglo sugar sauce?

Not that mine has, as for once in my life I agree with scottishmummy, but if you don't like one takeaway it might be an idea to try another one that doesn't serve you shite instead of moaning they're all like that?
