to be so happy that I live in a place where a very nice Chinese takeaway can be delivered to my door after a 1 minute phone call on a Sunday night?

and is indeed on its way now.

I know its not brilliant Sunday night fare but dh has been at work 8.30am to 8.30pm today.

I have given the dc breakfast, lunch and dinner (hm spaghetti carbonara, fresh fruit salad to follow as felt guilty about lack of vegetables thing).

I have also done the usual domestic chores (washing and pegging out and bringing in), tending to pets, playing cards with the dc, going to shops, and emptying and cleaning our bedroom which is being decorated starting tomorrow. Oh and posting a few times on Mumsnet.

Single handed.

I deserve a takeaway.

Shurely??

I could really fancy salt and pepper wings now.

Damn you! Envy

Goldenbear · 21/04/2013 21:37

Have you reported you're own thread for not meeting the AIBU posting criteria?

scottishmummy · 21/04/2013 21:37

Chips and curry sauce is a Chinese takeaway particular fave of mine
The glow in dark sauce, the gloop, the crrrrunch of the chips
God now I'm gagging for a takeaway

ThePskettiIncident · 21/04/2013 21:39

Miles from the nearest takeaway and I miss it!

Yum to Chinese curry, mushroom chow mein and veg spring rolls!

cece · 21/04/2013 21:39

When we bought our current house, one of our criteria was to have a Chinese taleaway that delivers nearby.

Our previous 2 houses did not and it was not good.

thistlelicker · 21/04/2013 21:40

I had chicken curry half chips half egg fried rice! And then Ben and
Jerrys caramel chew chew which is on offer in tesco!!!!! Am I too naughty to be on mn???

catgirl1976 · 21/04/2013 21:42

YANBU

You are very lucky. The naice Chinese near me closed a while ago :(

I ordered one from a different one the other night and it was rank :(

(I ordered Kung Po Chicken, Salt and Pepper King Prawns, Prawn Toast and Plain Chow Mein. It was gopping)

The nice ruinously expensive, no wonder it closed chinese used to do these really delicate prawn toasts with black and white sesame seeds and this amazing garlicy, sour dip. The other chinese sent doorstop chunks of deep fried white bread with some gloop in the middle. And the chicken tasted suspicious :(

MorrisZapp · 21/04/2013 21:42

People mock my Chinese order:

Chicken fried rice
Beansprouts
Chips

But I bloody love it. Especially if they chuck in some prawn crackers. Our local is pretty good, they don't use msg.

scottishmummy · 21/04/2013 21:43

Half chips, half egg fried rice...fab 2fave things.do they offer a half and hauf mix it

McNewPants2013 · 21/04/2013 21:43

I now fancy take away, but i am here with the kids with no cash in the house and justeat only have the rubbish people :(

catgirl1976 · 21/04/2013 21:45

And for those muttering about provenence of meat and e numbers, the nice chinese didn't use any dodgy additives, made everything, all the sauces etc from scratch and listed the local butcher, fishmonger and greengrocer where they sourced their ingredients.

It was however, about £30 a head for a smallish takeout and has, not surprisingly, closed down. :( :( :(

The one I got the other night tasted like, and may well have been, old cat in sugar and msg :(

AnyFucker · 21/04/2013 21:51

half chips/half rice

that is the language I am talking Grin

daisydoodoo · 21/04/2013 21:52

Ah chinese food I love it. Im vegetarian so no doubt about the meat. Sweet and sour vegetables. Egg fried rice and seaweed (yes I know its really deep fried cabbage in salt sugar and cashew nuts).

I could eat one now. But trying so hard to lose weight.

Must avoid these thread in future.

I was ridiculously happy that the chippy at the end of the road was really really rubbish.

It has saved me many a mile on the treadmill I'm sure!

I really want chinese now though. But it's a very rare treat. We get takeaway once a month and the kids always vote pizza :(

Next month I am calling for an indian before asking them though...

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 21/04/2013 22:06

AF, how does that work? Do they drive the 'bab van round to you?

iklboo · 21/04/2013 22:09

We live behind a Chinese chippy. DH taught their son to drive so we get mahoosive portions. We don't go as often as we used to because we're dieting but still treat ourselves to the occasional chicken / beef with mushrooms or oyster sauce.

AnyFucker · 21/04/2013 22:10

I dunno, Snatch

I order kebabs. I get kebabs. I have very little interest in how it happens.

I had chicken and donner in a naan with spicy sauce with salad.

it was yummy < garlic burp >

MorrisZapp · 21/04/2013 22:10

SM, I've had the chips/rice combo in England but never seen it up here? Is it all the rage where you are? Edinburgh here.

rainbow2000 · 21/04/2013 22:13

When he gets paid next Friday im having the biggest curry.Im fucking starving but on a budget so it will have to wait

PasswordProtected · 21/04/2013 22:15
