Disclaimer- haven't actually done this. Considering it.

Would I be U?

I can't think why. Actually - why do you have to hide and do it?

squeakytoy · 17/04/2013 20:47

why not? who is going to know if you do unless you tell them?

LemonPeculiarJones · 17/04/2013 20:48

Do they smell, emit smoke, affect the surrounds in any way? If not, go for it (sorry am ignorant of what they're like to be around).

If they smell in any way then YABU.

heronsfly · 17/04/2013 20:49

I smoke mine in the toilet, staff room etc at work. cant really smoke it out in the open, some member of the public would complain i'm sure Grin

sukysue · 17/04/2013 20:50

yanbu carry on and good luck!

AssamAndDarjeeling · 17/04/2013 20:50

They don't smell. They're not supposed to have any ill effects but the jury is not completely out on that front.

As to why- I feel weird doing it in a no-smoking area. Everyone looks at you as at first glance out of corner of eye it looks like a real cigarette!

WorraLiberty · 17/04/2013 20:52

Lemon no they don't.

OP, I used to 'puff' in the toilet when I helped out on school outings

It was the only thing that got me through the day Grin

LadyBeagleEyes · 17/04/2013 20:53

So where in public are you allowed to smoke them?

Maat · 17/04/2013 20:55

I love my e-cig.

Another advantage over a real cig is that you can put it in your pocket without setting fire to yourself. Grin

BriansBrain · 17/04/2013 20:55

I was thinking about this the other day.

I hate standing in the allocated fag butt city spot and only go out once during work so a crafty e cig in the toilet cubicle sounds like a good way to go!

AssamAndDarjeeling · 17/04/2013 20:56

Oh, everywhere lady . Even in no smoking areas. I just feel odd doing it, that's all!

Firstly well done you for quitting! I have been smoke free for nearly 4 years. 'Smoke' as an when you want to and don't worry what others think at first glance. Its about you and your health so people should be supportive.

CaffeDoppio · 17/04/2013 20:57

They don't smell or emit smoke no.

heronsfly · 17/04/2013 20:57

Which one have you got ?, i've got the E-Lites, but refills are so expensive, i'm thinking of investing the the one recommended on a thread on here, think it was the eco cig. (sorry for hijack.)

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 17/04/2013 20:57

Why aren't you allowed them on planes? i wanted one recently and was told I couldn't.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 17/04/2013 20:58

Oops just rwad properly! Well done for maybe quitting?!

Oh, I've quit the proper cigarettes mum of 2! Just have the e cig now. Next step is cutting that out completely Smile

LemonPeculiarJones · 17/04/2013 21:00

If you're not affecting anyone else by doing it then go for it.

I used to smoke and I loved the little meditative chunks of downtime involved in having a fag Guess you could still enjoy that in a loo!

So glad I quit though. And had no idea at the time how much I was polluting others people's space Blush

BMW6 · 17/04/2013 21:06

I use Skycig and those can be "smoked" on planes (sold at WH Smith at airports - hence the name - and online)
You can use them anywhere as no smoke emitted, only water vapour. And the tip is blue so no-one thinks its a real ciggie

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni · 17/04/2013 21:06

I used to puff away at mine in my office!
Mind you, I was the only person in it... but the point is that it will not smell of smoke and you aren't taking a break so you should be able to do it wherever.

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni · 17/04/2013 21:10

I do remember feeling a bit of a tit doing it in public though. More so than smoking proper (and that is saying something these days) because you lok like you want to smoke but can't quite figure it out...I hope the advertising people hit on that soon and make it more socially acceptable!

Hopasholic · 17/04/2013 21:10

They're banned under our smoking policy at work.

I still have a crafty puff in the loo though Grin

Such a middle aged rebel me!

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni · 17/04/2013 21:20

How funny that they are banned! I suppose you might remind others to go for a real one? I think it should be encouraged. You'd think bosses would want to stop people leaving the office and encourage them to give up!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 17/04/2013 21:34

So indeed well done you Wink
I quit with patches. Never tried the e-cig's. How are you finding the whole quitting process?
