I think I have had enough of wearing jeans in general, I'm thinking of going Kirsty Alllsop.

I'm a size 12, usually between 9.7 and 10 stones but I'm finding that my jeans are just so bloody uncomfortable, I'm always pulling them up or they are too tight, after 3 DCs I can't find any that are comfy around the waist.

Am I the only one, am I just buying shit jeans. I think I need a compete style change.

Diane Gilman Jeans. QVC.

Buy a size (or 2) smaller than you take on the high st. though, if you like them clingy.

The backs don't gape, the waist band sits just under the waist, and the back pockets are set high to give the illusion of a pert bum if the bum is less than pert.

I paid about £20 or £30 for my last pair i think. They were her version of skinny jeans - skinny enough, but not so tight round the legs that you look 'frog-like', IYKWIM?

mrsjay · 17/04/2013 18:36

I found a pair the other week in dorothy perkins sale rail fit like a dream I havn't worn jeans for 7 years I just tried my luck and the sit where they are supposed too love them

Jestrin · 17/04/2013 18:43

Can I join? I'm only 5ft 2 so have a hard time finding nice ones and then they roll down under the tum, pushing said tum UP. Not a good look Sad

mrsjay · 17/04/2013 18:44

DP pettite range jestrin but look for the ones with the higher zip I am under 5ft

xfrillyknickersx · 17/04/2013 18:44

I tried to wear jeans the other day for the first time in months and they were sooooo uncomfortable! I much prefer dresses or leggings with long tops.

mrsjay · 17/04/2013 18:46

I am too wee for leggings and dresses I do like the look though but id imagine id get swamped in them

LooseyMy · 17/04/2013 18:56

Ugh I hate jeans, far too fat for them at 16/18. I live in dressEs and skirts with tights/leggings.

Seabright · 17/04/2013 19:02

Miemors & Jestrin - I am fat (size 16), 4'11" and have a c-section scar and swear by NYDJ jeans

StuntGirl · 17/04/2013 19:03

Unhelpful, but I misread your thread title as "AIBU to give up on Jesus" Grin

MarshaBrady · 17/04/2013 19:04

ha Grin

I haven't worn trousers for about 4 years now, although I do have some floral leggings which I wear occasionally, do they count? I wear tights every day, ones that go high over my hips as I have wide wide hips and long legs. The only jeans I ever found that were comfortable were, embarrassingly, by g-star. In my defence I had gone shopping with my ridiculously highly paid 19 year old brother and they were his treat to avoid going to further shops. Every time I have worn trousers I have ended up showing my crack, pulling them down from half mast, yanking them away from my crotch and generally being uncomfortable. No jeans is a step in the right direction!

Zoomania · 17/04/2013 19:14

Ooh i have been tempted by NYDJ as they are the only pair I have tried on since having DD that fitted. I have turned from slight pear to apple shaped and low rise slide off my bum:(

However I have never spent more than £50 on jeans before and couldn't quite justify it. My main concern was whether the knees would wear out and go baggy through playing on the floor with my toddler. How have others found them? Do they last?

LucilleBluth · 17/04/2013 19:18

I gave up on Jesus a long time ago Wink

My problem is my waist, I don't have one, it doesn't matter how much weight I loose, jeans just don't sit right on me after three pregnancies.

I will try some of the brands that have been mentioned though.

I'd always say look at the outnet and Donna Ida sale for jeans with good discounts.

Oldieandgoldie · 17/04/2013 19:30

Admittedly, I am older than most of you, but has nobody else tried Matalan jeans? I think the brand is Soon, boot cut, and they are so-o-o comfortable. Not perfect, but value for money??.....excellent!Smile

Rooble · 17/04/2013 19:32

Perfect jeans for me (small waist, wide hips, large bum) are Levi's Curve ID. They have four shapes to choose from, I'm "bold curve". They look amaaaaazing. Size 14, so not exactly skinny, but you can buy you actual waist size rather than stg vast because they really are curved. You can get them in John Lewis or online (about £90 or much reduced in the sale). I'm a convert!

Jestrin · 17/04/2013 19:44

Thanks MrsJay and seabright maybe I shouldn't give up yet!

digerd · 17/04/2013 21:53

I like the thought of back pockets higher up, as the only curves I ever had was my rounded peachy bum, which has now drooped and flattened underneath. And the low pockets just accentuate the lack of roundness underneath.

.

cardibach · 17/04/2013 22:29

Loosey I wore jeans at size 22! I'm a 16/18 now.
My favourite ones are John Rocha or Monsoon. They flatter a more curvy frame. Not cheap, but I get them in the sales.

Bingdweller · 17/04/2013 22:34

Another vote for GAP jeans. If you can find a non irritating assistant to help, try lots on in different styles and I guarantee there will be one to suit you. Long and lean for me (5ft 5" and size 14).

SorrelForbes · 17/04/2013 22:45

I think they've stopped making Long and Lean which is annoying as they were a great shape. I stick to the High Rise Skinnies and the Relaxes BF styles (as recommended by another poster upthread)

Bingdweller · 17/04/2013 22:53

sorrel Noooooo! They are my fave jeans going to camp out til the local outlet opens tomorrow morning. I think I may need to stock up!

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 17/04/2013 23:01

Don't shoot me but the straight leg jeans from M&S are really nice. Blush

They're high waisted, narrow straight legged, fairly cheap and very comfortable. You might need to go down a size, which is always nice, bit I've had a few pairs and they're great.

ComposHat · 17/04/2013 23:14

Nah fuck it OP go for the full Texas Tuxedo (head to toe denim) and rock the Status Quo look.

lazydog · 17/04/2013 23:17

Gap long and lean here too. I'm not big (UK12 (or occasionally UK14) at 5'7" - always an 8 in Gap US jeans sizes! Grin ) but like you, OP, I don't really have a waist after having kids. That particular style shapes me better than any others I've tried and is really comfortable.

Oh, and SorrelForbes - gapcanada.ca definitely still sell them. I really hope they don't discontinue them!!! Shock
