I've just read her post on the museums thread.
I am mystified, she sounds like a normal, educated person. I am truly gobsmacked that either she made it up and if not then wonders if she should report.

Countless people have told the OP of that thread to contact SS. I think they like the attention.

IMO it sounded to OTT to be true.

Not at that type of thing hasn't happened & doesn't go on.

But if the situation was that horrific, no way would anyone with an ounce of compassion, would post on here before phoning the police, never mind social services.

I'm hoping she severely exaggerated the story...as in, there is an 18 month old next door and she's occasionally heard the parents bickering or something. But added all the horrific shit for drama?? I don't know why anyone would do this, but I hope, I hope, I hope.

The OP clarified on the other thread that most of her initial post was based on gossip and a random FB status. Think the initial post was for shock value. It's still fucking appaling mind you.

Sugarmouse - I, for one, cannot understand why you even needed to ask if you should ring Social Services. If even half of what you said in your OP on the other thread was true, you should have phoned at once, never mind buggering around on Mumsnet.

Hi all, yes the thread was deleted because after removing all the troll hunting posts on the thread it was riddled with gaps, so it affected the readability of the thread.

Troll hunting on the boards is against talk guidelines. If you have concerns about a poster please do report them to MNHQ, rather than post.

It upsets me also. But unless the OP returns and engages I do feel all your care and concern is wasted.
