I may have misunderstood you in the first place; if I have just ignore me for being a twit. But if I haven't: I thought that "cretin" was originally a medical term, but it got hijacked by people who used it as a insult. Rather like terminology for multiple sclerosis (spastic) became an insult.

Which, in case anyone's forgotten , is the issue of wanting to treat all people with disabilities as "stupid".
