To think its not okay for dh to laugh at me

TrippingTheLifeFantastic · 29/03/2013 03:19

So DH and I were messing around a little while ago and he made out that he was going to throw the cat at me. I was lying on the sofa and he was standing in front of me. I laughed and he threw the cat at me! I put my hand up and the cat has given me three long scratches on my palm.

I laughed initially because it didn't hurt right away. Within a minute or two it started bleeding and really hurt. I told DH it really hurt and he kept laughing. I got pissed off and he told me I was being a drama queen and got pissed off at me!

I know I laughed right after he did it, but AIBU to be pissed that he kept laughing at me even after I said it hurt?

Please give the cat away so you two senseless animals can go on "laughing".

morons

NotTreadingGrapes · 29/03/2013 09:35

offers to train cat to go for knackers and eyes next time

toffeelolly · 29/03/2013 09:36

What a wanker he is, not funny.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 29/03/2013 09:36

Animals aren't toys. Bloody stupid behaviour.

Whoknowswhocares · 29/03/2013 09:39

You are not fit to own a cat. Or any other animal.
If that level of cruelty is being shown by BOTH of you, then I can only hope you do not have children

countrykitten · 29/03/2013 09:41

So it would have been fine had the cat not scratched you? Hilarious even? Your dh is a twat and so you are for not seeing how cruel and stupid this was. I pity the cat and and couldn't care less about how the two gurning idiotic humans feel about the whole thing.

Vicky2011 · 29/03/2013 09:46

Poor moggy :-(

zwischenzug · 29/03/2013 09:57

Is this thread for real? Maybe I've lead a sheltered life but I can't believe anyone is moronic enough to laugh at someone hurling a cat across the room and then post on the internet asking for sympathy because the cat didn't like it.

countrykitten · 29/03/2013 10:02

I think it sadly is for real. Casual animal cruelty and two clearly rather dense human beings - I doubt it's that rare a combination really.

Hearteningly no-one has been along to say 'it's only a cat' and to sympathise with the OP - maybe there is hope for us yet?!

flippinada · 29/03/2013 10:03

In case this isn't a wind up or piss-poor attempt at a joke (clue - jokes are supposed to be funny) then this is just appalling.

This is straight up animal cruelty and not a joking matter. The poor animal must have been terrified.

Cruelty to animals is also an indicator of domestic abuse.

pudcat · 29/03/2013 10:07

Poor cat, I am so pleased it scratched you. This is animal cruelty and if I lived near you, I would report you.

YellowDinosaur · 29/03/2013 10:16

Ya both bu for thinking that throwing a cat was funny. That kind of treatment to animals is quite frankly cuntish and I to would report the pair of you if I knew who you were. :( for the cat. Angry for the pair of you

flippinada · 29/03/2013 10:17

If genuine, it may be that the OP didn't find it funny but was laughing along with her horrible DH because scared not to, and is testing the waters to see what other people think.

If not there are no words (well there are but I'd prob get banned got using them).

lurkedtoolong · 29/03/2013 10:19

I have no sympathy for you. It's not funny, you are both stupid and irresponsible. I hope the RSPCA find you, take the cat off you and you never have another animal again. You say the cat is fine but you don't know how frightened it was. Idiots.

Branleuse · 29/03/2013 10:21

id have put the cat in the bin for that

Salmotrutta · 29/03/2013 10:22

To hell with your scratched arm.

If I was your cat I'd wait till you were asleep and crap on your head.

Then I'd bog off and find a nice neighbour to take me in.

countrykitten · 29/03/2013 10:24

Branleuse - really not funny at all. Not even slightly.

Catchingmockingbirds · 29/03/2013 10:26

Was the cat ok?

Actually
I laughed initially because it didnt hurt right away

Suggests she thought it was funny at first?

Then didnt, because she had a sore hand.

Never mind the cat Hmm

countrykitten · 29/03/2013 10:58

MooMoo at least you didn't say 'it's only a cat' but I do think that you gave the OP more benefit of the doubt than she should get.

Looking at the timing of the posting I wonder if they were pissed too.

flippinada · 29/03/2013 10:58

Actually, a similar thing happened to me.

My XP picked up our cat and threw it on the sofa in a temper.

I did not find it funny at all, and can remember to this day (it was about ten years ago) the look of absolute fear on his face (the cat).

I was sobbing hysterically and begged him to stop.

EarlyInTheMorning · 29/03/2013 10:58

So you're not upset that he threw the cat
You're upset because he dismissed you when you told him it hurt
YABU
and cruel
both of you

Branleuse · 29/03/2013 10:59

oh it is, come on, I dont recommend throwing cats, but its post traumatic stress is likely to last exactly as long as it takes to get the tin opener out of the drawer, or to shake of a box of go-cat.

countrykitten · 29/03/2013 11:01

flippinada you are well rid of him. I always wonder what kind of person can be wilfully cruel to a defenceless animal....not such a big step from hurting a defenceless human is it? I tend to think that these people are lacking something in their makeup. Empathy maybe?
