to think that buying Easter Presents is indulgent and redicilously OTT?

Way to ruin.

My 4 will have an ascetic Egg Hunt in the snow. With one creme egg. Although I'll tell them there's 2 as it keeps them occupied for longer.

Then thye can learn the true Spirit of the Season by sharing it.

My way is roght and true. No ipods or Ugh boots for mine just coz it's easter.

The spirit of Easter isn't gift giving but mine get 787987987987808 eggs so I buy then a toy rather than add to the chocolate collection

Easter falls on April Fool's Day, so I'm planning to tell my kids I've hidden Easter eggs, but not bother. That should amuse me.

Easter presents??? Not in my house! Choccy egg and that's the lot. Ditto Easter Trees with dangly eggs (which conjures up a slightly unsavoury image, too).

Ds is 2 and doesn't know what Easter is yet so no eggs fir him. How many years can I get away with this?

Gps buy them an egg.

I give them nothing but constant incessant whining about how much it cots to feed and entertain them over the Easter Hols.

My way is right and proper.

I agree no toys as Easter is not Christmas/Birthday, but I did buy loads of different size Easter eggs to make them an egg hunt with one bigger one as the final prize. They are age 3 and 6 so i did indulge a little. Some choco for me too and hubby and older step daughter. Spent in total about £18 at tesco.

I used to love it when the DCs were really little. I ate all of their eggs then and they never knew it.

I usually ignore easter but this year the brats have 2 eggs each plus dd has a hello kitty bunny and egg toy thing, ds has a book and bunny ears hairband and i've bought mini eggs too.

12 pound total :)

I buy the dc's a toy rather than an egg. They have far too much chocolate from relatives and friends so instead we buy them something else ( no more than £10) which they have to find at the end of a mini egg trail. This year they both have a playmobil egg toy.
If I am going to spend £5 at Easter, then I prefer it to go on something that lasts and isn't yet more chocolate.

DC1 has a slight nut allergy and was 13 before my 'friend' told him that cadbury's dairy milk didn't have nuts in. Also, for 2 years running I told him off for leaving his Easter eggs where the dog could eat them, having eaten them myself, mind you that bloody dog did eat every other thing in the house and would have eaten the eggs if I hadn't got there first.

DD is 14 months and doesn't eat chocolate yet, so I've bought her some chick-related presents - book, Tomy egg things and a chick vest, all second hand.

Mine have tried to upgrade from Cadbury to the "this isn't any ordinary Easter egg, this is a pink Percy Pig" egg but I refuse to be sucked into any Easter specific marketing ploy.. :)

I buy a small toy and hide about 30 mini eggs (from Aldi) round the house for them to find. They get about 10 teeny eggs each and enjoy looking for them.
They usually get 4 eggs each from family, but are only allowed one at a time, and only every few days, so they make them last, and they share them with DH and I we steal some
They also go to church - DD gave a reading at today's service attended by the whole school and quite a few parents and it was lovely Grin surprise as we didn't know she was doing it until we got there.

DD1 will be skiing over Easter lucky cow so the Easter Bunny has hidden some eggs in her helmet.

pascha the answer is this year only. Ds is 3 and nursery has told him the Easter bunny will be delivering Easter eggs if he's good Angry now he's expecting a big hoohah and if he doesn't get it, he'll think he'd been naughty :(

Luckily I ordered his birthday present from the playmobil website the other day and they are kindly sending me a free egg with a toy in ( and 2 other free gifts Grin) so the Easter bunny can bring that and a few other bits.

Eggs only here too! I do a hunt with assorted eggs roughly the size of creme eggs, aero lambs, lindt mini bunnies, caramel bunnies.

Relatives buy them single chocolate eggs. So all dc end up with 4 large eggs and 5 or 6 mini ones from the hunt.

Ds 1 & 2 have been dropping hints about ps3 games but they will be sorely disappointed.
