It always makes me think people have put their clothes on inside out. Or am I just an old fuddy-duddy? Grin

Are you my mum? She can get way too excited about a well sewn and hidden zip :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/03/2013 21:24

I really like exposed zips, unless they are gold. Gold ones are tacky.

Annunziata · 25/03/2013 21:26

I quite like them. It's the least of my worries with DD's clothes anyway Grin

GinAndSlimlinePlease · 25/03/2013 21:27

I like them, sorry.

I also like nice bra straps on show Shock

WhispersOfWickedness · 25/03/2013 21:28

Am I the only one who saw the thread title and was a bit Confused about the thought of an invisible zip? How would I be able to do it up if it was invisible?! BlushGrin

Tethering · 25/03/2013 21:29

I hate them. I always think it makes a dress look poorly made. I also think I have turned into my mum Blush

threepiecesuite · 25/03/2013 21:29

I hate visible zips. And I hate feeling a cold zip in my skin, ugh.
I like small, thin invisible zips with tiny little zippers.

HappySeven · 25/03/2013 21:30

Ok, I'm definitely old then. I'll be calling clothes "jazzy" next, like my mum, won't I?

HappySeven · 25/03/2013 21:30

threepiece, thank you!

I don't get it either - I think I'm too old!

pigsDOfly · 25/03/2013 21:31

Think they look horrible.

Also don't understand why it seems acceptable now to have bra straps on show. eg someone will have a halter neck dress on with their bra straps on their shoulders. Go and buy a halter neck bra fgs. Just looks tacky and cheap.

pigsDOfly · 25/03/2013 21:32

Oops.X post Gin

TheCraicDealer · 25/03/2013 21:32

I see your visible zips and raise you "invisible bra straps". They are the work of the fashion devil.

ClippedPhoenix · 25/03/2013 21:35

I went though the punk era and i think the zips on stuff these days are very conservative indeed Grin

HappySeven · 25/03/2013 21:36

Whispers, I now have visions of women trapped in clothing forever (but then why would they be trapped inside? how would they have got there?!?)

FreudiansSlipper · 25/03/2013 21:37

I love them have a skirt and lovely top with gold zips :)

HappySeven · 25/03/2013 21:37

Is it particularly wrong that every time I've seen them an AIBU has formed in my head?

BlissfullyIgnorant · 25/03/2013 21:38

YANBU. It's lazy production techniques.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/03/2013 21:39

I used to wear bondage skirts, so a visible zip is indeed v tame!

HATE exposed bra straps though - so tacky.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/03/2013 21:39

Apologies for my over-use of the word tacky on this thread btw. I am all out of adjectives...

Chewbecca · 25/03/2013 21:42

I sent a dress back only last week when I discovered it had a zip from top to bottom down the front. It was weird. Somehow I hadn't noticed in the description or photo on the website!

Mawgatron · 25/03/2013 21:42

I hate them. I want to say I'm young, but it dawned on me that at 29 I might be deluding myself...

Bluelightsandsirens · 25/03/2013 21:43

I didn't think anything of them and actually bought a lovely dress for work with a visible zip.

My nan was all over it like a rash:

"Oh look Grandad, blue has her zip on show"
"Have you seen blues zip grandad, she has it on the outside of her dress"

Hmm I'm still not sure if Nan wants grandad to see it as a good or bad zip.

This is the 80+ year old that always wants to talk about my heels and will get grandad to guess how many inches tall the heels are.

must remember to ring my grandparents over the weekend

NorksAreMessy · 25/03/2013 21:44

The words "understand" and "fashion" can ONLY be contained in the same sentence when there is a negative word in the sentence as well, such as "not", "never" or "what the buggery bollox are they trying to get me to wear now" !?!

HappySeven · 25/03/2013 21:47

Mawg, I reckon 29 is very young. It must be or I would be... but no, that can't be true so 29 is definitely young.
