and bitter and choose to make themselves feel better by belittling the lifestyles of others, choice or not. AIBU to be so pissed off by this to begin to despise a large proportion of the female population who think the same way and wish that they might fall off their self built pedestals?

Xpost with LBE.

YouTheCat · 22/03/2013 22:59

It's just the impression I got from a thread this week and quite often on other threads of a political nature.

I don't know many RL people who would do this tbh, but that's because most of my friends are pretty politically clued up really.

OhChristHasRisenFENTON · 22/03/2013 23:01

I sort of see what you mean, OP, but I don't think it's the majority.

There are some who come here to piss on chips, definitely.

But I do love it here, there's a great mix of quick witted people, - just got to pick through some weird other shit sometimes.

Smile
Blowin · 22/03/2013 23:02

Oh for Gods sake, who gives a shit if some posters are miserable/judgey/daily mail readers etc blah blah, there are loads of great, interesting, broadminded and funny posters on MN too, just enjoy them and ignore the arseholes.

YouTheCat · 22/03/2013 23:03

There are some odd goady fuckers about at the moment.

It'll get worse over the next few weeks though - it's the holidays. Hmm

AgentZigzag · 22/03/2013 23:10

There are only going to be posters who like talking about voting, politics and all that guff, on a thread about voting, politics and all that guff YouTheCat.

And the same goes for posting about what they look like.

Most people don't feel strongly enough to take the time to post about either, which skews what 'women voters' might look like from just threads on here.

This isn't an attack on anything American at all, but they do seem to put a lot more emphasis than we do on looks of their politicians, I can't imagine any of our politicians teeth would get through that particular net.

AgentZigzag · 22/03/2013 23:13

Is the accusation that another posters being a goady fucker the latest way of trying to shut someone up?

It's a much used blanket come back at the min.

YouTheCat · 22/03/2013 23:16

Nope. Grin

There was a whole thread about them a little while ago. A few names pop out at me because I know when they post there's usually a bunfight to follow.

I'm mainly here for a giggle and a bit of entertainment. I don't think I've ever asked for advice.

Sometimes a subject will make me feel a bit foot stampy but I don't let it spoil my day.

FunnysInLaJardin · 22/03/2013 23:18

gaelic you are right, esp when it comes to money!

why, why, why did I start and AIBU about money? Just WHY

YouTheCat · 22/03/2013 23:20

Actually, AgentZ, I do agree that some people can be very fast to shout 'goady fucker' just because someone else has an opposing view.

Booyhoo · 22/03/2013 23:52

yes i've noticed the 'goady fucker' phrase being thrown about a LOT in the past few weeks and at times it definitely wasn't deserved. i dont know if it was people trying to get onto some sort of bandwagon or feel like a proper MNer because they thought they had spotted a way to use the phrase of the month.

AgentZigzag · 22/03/2013 23:56

Goading is just another word for trolling though isn't it?

If it isn't, what's the difference?

rhondajean · 22/03/2013 23:57

I'm happy, me.

AgentZigzag · 23/03/2013 00:01

WTF are you doing on here then rhonda??

Fuck off, spreading your happiness hither and thither with carefree wild abandon Hmm

YouTheCat · 23/03/2013 00:02

You can be goady without being a troll. I remember one poster being really very nasty on a serious thread. It was a regular poster's thread and a regular poster who had been goady. It came out that the goader had a problem with the OP. It wasn't very nice but it wasn't a troll.

But yes, most goady fuckers are probably trolls or drunk

KatieScarlett2833 · 23/03/2013 00:02

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands......
( sits on fingers till they are blue)
I have noisy football watching Menz downstairs getting lairy. I wish they would pass out and STFU as I'm trying to finish the Andrew Marr book in peace. Hmm

Booyhoo · 23/03/2013 00:03

is trolling someone pretending to be someone they're not and making up stories?

in my head goading is someone just posting stuff they know will get a reaction but not namechanging or anything to do it.

maybe there is overlap between the 2? or maybe it is all the same. i dont know really Confused

ThePathanKhansAmnesiac · 23/03/2013 00:05

Helloo Smile.

AgentZigzag · 23/03/2013 00:11

Goad is - 'Provoke or annoy (someone) so as to stimulate some action or reaction.'

Internet troll is - 'someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community...with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

Look the same to me.

(just had a MN first and posted that on the wrong thread Blush having two MN tabs open at the same time is beyond me this time of night Grin)

Leave off the happy pollen rhonda, it's making me sneeze Grin

AgentZigzag · 23/03/2013 00:12

Helloo Panthan, are you a miserable fuck, or weird and happy?

YouTheCat · 23/03/2013 00:13

I'm on the happy pink wine. Grin

I think it is possible to be goady without being a troll but it doesn't happen often.

ThePathanKhansAmnesiac · 23/03/2013 00:25

I,m lovely happy Agent, just taken a temazepam for my wisdom.tooth thats swaying like Elvis and needs pushed out.

I do know what the OP means, you have to stay away from the goady fuckers.

Mn can be a place of immense wisdom, but hateful fuckers are everywhere. Hide thread button is your pal.

What has Maryz done to her name? Has Zombie converted her?

Booyhoo · 23/03/2013 00:25

yep they sound the same.

gaelicsheep · 23/03/2013 00:32

Just popping back to ask EggyFucker what she means as I have not posted about the weather and certainly not about Ikea horseballs. Tres confused.
