and bitter and choose to make themselves feel better by belittling the lifestyles of others, choice or not. AIBU to be so pissed off by this to begin to despise a large proportion of the female population who think the same way and wish that they might fall off their self built pedestals?

curly wurly will do fine

EF, this can't be a lighthearted thread. We don't seem to be allowed to have lighthearted threads any more Sad

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:33

Yes. Yes I am. That is my secret career. I hide it cunningly by posting drivel on MN about medieval English all day.

DH would love a black BMW.

I'm sorry to say it wasn't me. And I admit if I got a personalized plate, there is a tiny chance DH wouldn't let me personalize it to my MN name, too.

But I am chuffed at the idea.

rocketleaf · 22/03/2013 22:33

I don't know. I haven't been on here for a while so havent noticed a difference, busy child rearing and all but I do know that I hung out here more when i had issues. Firstly when i had TTC issues. Secondly, when I had BFing issues. Now dipping my toe back in because I have waistline issues. Maybe I am just a user.

Last time I was posted a lot someone was saying the same thing though "mumsnet isn't what it used to be and has become a character of itself" That was well over 18 months ago. Perhaps its getting worse or perhaps its always been like this.

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 22:35

You want wine or bitter, Mary

Make up your mind!

Booyhoo · 22/03/2013 22:36
Sad

i am just a little bit more miserable now LRD

rocketleaf · 22/03/2013 22:37

And you've just reminded me I've got half a crushed chocolate bunny in the fridge. So I am definitely not miserable. (but perhaps rethinking that MN could help with waistline issues)

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:37

LRD, never mind personalised numberplates, I just want to know where you stand on the where-should-R3's-bones-be-buried debate?

Worra, have you tried chucking a cucamelon?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:38

Sorry. Blush

See ... it's true, MN is a force for evil ...

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 22:39

Oooh they look wrong...yet I can't stop staring at them?! Confused

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:39

princess - cross posted, sorry. Leicester.

Leicester needs the tourism, York doesn't. I don't buy the argument that he wanted to be buried in York, as medieval kings quite often promised to get themselves buried somewhere (or several somewheres) just so show they liked it, then decided on somewhere different later on. I reckon since the Grey friars took him in and buried him, they showed him some respect and he should stay there. It just feels right to me.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:40

What about you?

Shakey1500 · 22/03/2013 22:45

Ooh I like the look of them cuca-things! They look like teeny tiny marrows. Or marrows for pixies.

Booyhoo · 22/03/2013 22:46

one day i will spot a real MNer. one day.

Grin
PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:46

Apparently Leicester Cathedral has free admission; York Minster you pay for. (Have no idea if that's true, btw; as I read it in a letter to the Telegraph it's probably wrong). I imagine that R3 has no strong feelings either way.

Joking apart, I feel he should probably remain in Leicester.

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:47

I think the cucamelons are lovely.

KobayashiMaru · 22/03/2013 22:48

you're a ray of fucking sunshine aren't you, op? You get back what you give out, remember?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:48

Ahh, good point. Though Leics Cathedral might bump the price up, I guess.

booy - I've never spotted a MNer for certain. Sad

I have seen people who I know to be MNers, but it's not the same. There were two women in the pub I was in last night talking about very MN-ish topics, and I kept wanting to drop in a comment about pom bears, but didn't get up the courage.

YouTheCat · 22/03/2013 22:49

I get what Gaelic is saying and it is very depressing.

Also very depressing is finding out that a lot of voters (mainly women which totally exasperates me) base their choice of vote on how someone looks. So many don't even seem to look at policies or they'll go with a general kneejerk reaction to immigration.

Yes, we are all allowed to have very differing views and opinions but ffs base your view on more than whether someone comes across as smug or looks dishevelled or whether you like his wife or not. Confused

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:51

Apparently cucamelons taste like cucumbers with a hint of lime.

Perfect with a glass of gin, when toasting the common hordes while sweeping past in your darkened-windowed BMW.

With a curly-wurly in the other hand, natch.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:53

I've tried and failed to grow cucamelons. I must try again if they taste like that, they sound great.

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:54

Cat, I really strongly disagree with what you say about women voters. Perhaps you know women whose votes are cast in that way, but I certainly do not.

LadyBeagleEyes · 22/03/2013 22:54

I'm a ray of sunshine kobaya Smile smile]
Peace and love and all that.
Follow me.

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:57

LRD, Shock I've never come across anyone else who's even heard of a cucamelon! So, all respect to you.

Must go, as off on holiday early tomorrow. Peace and love to all. And special kisses to gaelicsheep - it's not all bad, after all!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:58

Ooh, enjoy your holiday. Smile

Have fun for us miserable lot.
