and bitter and choose to make themselves feel better by belittling the lifestyles of others, choice or not. AIBU to be so pissed off by this to begin to despise a large proportion of the female population who think the same way and wish that they might fall off their self built pedestals?

Large as in 20 to 30% as opposed to 0.2% - especially on certain threads about

Think of me as an exasperated elder bemoaning the days before MN startes worshipping the Daily Fail!

'posted on others til blue in the face. There's nothing can be said to some people.'

You sound like you're only posting to change peoples minds to your view OP, and that's not a discussion.

It's nice when the poster you're arguing with talking to acknowledges what you're saying, but that's not a condition of posting and it doesn't mean they're a bitter and twisted human being.

Do you acknowledge other posters points of view when they're different to your own and you feel really strongly about what you're saying?

I haven't got any of that shite left crashdoll, soz Grin

arf at Worra

And I am now wondering if I'm the only person on Mumsnet in the entire universe who has never been to an IKEA store?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:20

What do you hope to get out of posting a thread like this, though?

All you are going to do is make miserable people feel more miserable, and you're engaging in the same behaviour of belittling other people that you claim to dislike.

SneezingwakestheJesus · 22/03/2013 22:21

YABU to get so would up by a thread that you begin to hate people. Its...just...the...Internet! People take stuff way too seriously on here sometimes.

TraineeBabyCatcher · 22/03/2013 22:21

I am miserable.
I'm miserable and lonely.
I'm miserable and lonely and sad.
I'm miserable and lonely and sad and bitter.
I'm miserable and lonely and sad and bitter and cross.
I'm miserable and lonely and sad and bitter and cross and tired.
I'm miserable and lonely and sad and bitter and cross and tired and fed up.
I'm miserable and lonely and sad and bitter and cross and tired and fed up and heartbroken.

Just to add a little happiness to this thread.

But I do not belittle people and I would like I know where to get one of these pedestals from because at least building one of them may distract me for 5 minutes from my pit of sorrow.

on a lighter note, I have Ben and Jerrys

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 22:22

No I've never been to IKEA either.

But I've heard their restaurants are nice

Apparently their meatballs are the dog's bollocks...

gaelicsheep · 22/03/2013 22:22

Blimey, you make a simple observation. No matter, we're all doomed anyway. Bye.

OP posts:
Booyhoo · 22/03/2013 22:23

have you seen outside? we're all miserable!!

MaryZeZJezuzIzntZombiedYet · 22/03/2013 22:23

Zigzag, could I trouble you for some chocolatey stuff?

I would really like some Wine, but I'm on taxi pickup for teenagers so can't.

So I'm exceedingly grouchy, and bitter, and I would like to make other people (said teenagers for example) miserable.

MaryZeZJezuzIzntZombiedYet · 22/03/2013 22:24

Worra, the meatballs are the horses' bollocks atm.

nars · 22/03/2013 22:24

maybe op is trying to say what some of are are thinking, i agree with her as i said earlier, the op's comment of 'better by belittling the lifestyles of others, ' rings true to me

mn these days is alot of whining and judging other's choices, have seen so many threads lately that just depress me just from their one-sided views. used to be more representative of all types

Shakey1500 · 22/03/2013 22:24

I'm not miserable Grin

DH got promoted today, I am getting a cleaner, I couldn't make it into work today due to snow so have lazed around, thought about doing the ironing for a nanosecond then decided against it, weather stopped briefly during the school run and I have wine.

What's not to love? Wink

Booyhoo · 22/03/2013 22:25

ooh LRD just when i see you. i saw a car number plate today that i thought must or should belong to you. it was a few letters/numbers and then LRD. was it you?

EggyFucker · 22/03/2013 22:25

you are a bit strange all the time this evening, GS

The Depression. The Weather. Ikea meatballs are horsemeat. You hate us all.

I am going to the garden to eat worms.

Except they are buried under 6 inches of snow. Bastards.

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:25

LadyBeagle, I've been here longer than you, and I thought you'd been here for aaagessss...

The only thing that makes me Hmm about MN is when posters talk about someone being common.

No, actually, I've thought of something else that makes me go Hmm. It's the fact that for FOUR SODDING WEEKS now I've been asking MN to send me the Talk Round-Up. But nary a sniff of it have I had.

I think MN Towers must hate me.

nars · 22/03/2013 22:27

god i hate those fecking strikethroughs

how to be offensive to a poster whilst trying really hard not to hide it

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 22:27

Talking of misery....

It's snowing outside

I'm cold

I haven't had hot water or central heating for weeks (need replacement boiler - being fitted on Tuesday)

I'm cold

My left eyeball has dried out, due to being blasted by a fan heater

My right eyeball feels like the fluid has frozen because I'm sitting near a window

I'm cold

I look like I've ram raided a jumble sale without the use of a car

And did I mention I'm cold?

But I have wine so I'm quite happy Grin Wine

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 22:28
Grin

I love that booy. I do hope it was a really posh, fancy car? I'm so glad you have an image of me that I can afford a personalized numberplate.

Go on. Tell me it was a lovely brand-new Audi.

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 22:29

A bun PrincessFiorimonde?

How vair common

MaryZeZJezuzIzntZombiedYet · 22/03/2013 22:31

I want Wine.

[bitter]

EggyFucker · 22/03/2013 22:31

you talkin' to me, nars ?

be direct, it helps

I was being lighthearted

this is a lighthearted thread (kinda, in a dark kinda way)

was I mistaken ?

Booyhoo · 22/03/2013 22:31

it was a big fancy black new BMW with darkened windows are you a drug dealer?

AgentZigzag · 22/03/2013 22:32

Of course Maryz, the curly wurly's melted into one solid, filling pulling mass, but the walnut whip is on Wink
