and bitter and choose to make themselves feel better by belittling the lifestyles of others, choice or not. AIBU to be so pissed off by this to begin to despise a large proportion of the female population who think the same way and wish that they might fall off their self built pedestals?

Sparklingbrook · 22/03/2013 21:57

I would love a self built pedestal. Do Ikea sell them flat pack? Grin

gaelicsheep · 22/03/2013 21:59

I think you are mistaking me for someone who actually cares about such people, other than starting a thread about it and watching the fireworks. I have a life to lead you know. Smile

Off Mumsnet, well that's a different matter and I do care because such views are scarily common. But I would never post seriously about that in AIBU!

OP posts:
crashdoll · 22/03/2013 21:59

Fuck Ikea
< is a miserable Ikea hating bitter bitch >

nars · 22/03/2013 21:59

you can get that impression from mn these days op, tend to agree!

crashdoll · 22/03/2013 22:00

"Who cares?"
"I have a life to lead"

Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. Grin

EggyFucker · 22/03/2013 22:01

We are in the midst of a Depression

not a "triple dip recession"

people in general are a bit fucked off

it's understandable

BumpingFuglies · 22/03/2013 22:02

So start a thread about the government's crap instead of doing precisely what you are criticising?

What do you desire crashdoll?

PacificDogwood · 22/03/2013 22:02
Grin

'Tis the interweb, innit, where people say things with impunity they would most likely be more coy about in RL. Don't let the wankers get to you!
And yes, I do think there is happy stuff about on here too.

HotCrossWeaselInSinisterBonnet · 22/03/2013 22:02

Ikea makes me miserable

crashdoll · 22/03/2013 22:03

Do you have any of that dairy milk oreo stuff please AgentZ?

Sparklingbrook · 22/03/2013 22:04

Do you get a pedestal mat with the pedestal or is that just for the loo?

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 22:05

We are in the midst of a Depression

not a "triple dip recession"

people in general are a bit fucked off

I'm gutted, I thought that was going to be a rap song Grin

AgentZigzag · 22/03/2013 22:06

I don't think you need to be miserable to belittle other posters, it's not fair to tar all us miserable bastards with the same brush, I'm sure some people get off on it and it makes them very happy.

But most people care about some things and not others, I think you're getting muddled up thinking we're all only 5 MNHQ posters the same person.

gaelicsheep · 22/03/2013 22:06

Been there BumpingFuglies - started some, posted on others til blue in the face. There's nothing can be said to some people. Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses? Hey ho, as you were.

OP posts:
HotCrossWeaselInSinisterBonnet · 22/03/2013 22:07

Is that a curlywurly AgentZZ or are you just pleased to see me?

MaryZeZJezuzIzntZombiedYet · 22/03/2013 22:09

I agree there is a proportion who are miserable gits and try to make everyone else miserable.

But (peers at spreadsheet), I think is is a tiny minority.

I am sometimes a miserable git. If you see me being grouchy, feel free to give me a kick up the arse.

Startail · 22/03/2013 22:10

I think I may have been grumpy because the government fuck me off, the Labour Party and the liberals fuck me off too.

Add to that loads of horrible cold rain for the start of the Easter holidays and a letter from school moaning that DD was off school last term and I reserve the right to be grumpy.

DD had an ear infection, quite rightly the GP didn't give her antibiotics, but that meant she probably had a week off school not 3 days. That plus 3 days with a virus earlier in the term had her below their precious 94%

DD2 loves school and hates being at home more than a day or two. She is nighty pissed off.

airforce1 · 22/03/2013 22:11

How can you have large minority?

LadyBeagleEyes · 22/03/2013 22:11

Im sort of agreeing with you here Op.
Too many miserable buggers, who just don't get a funny or ironic post.
I only joined 2 years ago, and I think the ones that have made me laugh and joined in with the craic have all given up.
MN has become an almost caricature of itself, we are becoming the narrow minded vipers that the media loves to point out.
I will stay though and fight for the cause Grin

BumpingFuglies · 22/03/2013 22:14

So ignore said people, OP. You've clearly done your bit.

Ow. Grin

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 22:15

LBE I thought you were here waaaaay longer than that?! Shock

PrincessFiorimonde · 22/03/2013 22:15

Sorry to read you're finding it all a bit miz here at the moment. I agree with Laurie that people are probably more likely to post on MN (and perhaps on any internet forum?) when they are pissed off. And less likely to post when they're in love with the world.

I also think it's sad that you think 'a large proportion of the female population .. think the same way' (i.e. are fed up). Do you really think so? Really, women are generally more pissed off than men are? I can think of lots of reasons to be fed up, some of which are to do with the government (as per your second post), but mostly I'm a kind of glass-half-full sort of person. There are people to see, places to visit, wine to be drunk, jokes to be laughed at, rivers to be picnicked by, etc., etc...

Hope you don't think that's too vomit-making!

PS HotCrossWeasel I love your new name.
