sorry if this is not exactly AIBU, but it used to come up a lot and http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/annoying-parents-still-going-to-use-local-cafe-as-a-creche-2013031963107 this made me laugh

Not sure what your AIBU is, though? The Daily Mash is a parody site. Do you really let your DC run about in a coffee shop?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/03/2013 11:46

No, you shouldn't. People are going to be carrying around very hot drinks, and if your toddler runs into them or trips them up, someone could be badly scalded. It is not a sensible or safe place to allow a child to run around - and it is pretty annoying for other patrons too.

Note - I am NOT saying parents of toddlers shouldn't go to cafes, but I am saying that they should act with consideration for other people in the cafe. Everyone should act with consideration.

"Note - I am NOT saying parents of toddlers shouldn't go to cafes"

Why not? They shouldn't go to them.

thanks for putting in the link marmaladetwatkins_ I don't know what went wrong. No, not a proper AIBU, it just made me laugh and I thought, given the amount of discussion this subject has had on here in the past, others might like it too.

"My children are incredible" Grin.

It's a bit like that where I live. Most parents are very good with their kids and bring stuff to occupy them, but there are some who really don't give a flying arse what little Tarquin's up to as long as he hasn't run out of the door and into the road. I have almost been tripped up carrying a hot drink by a young child. Cue disinterested 'careful, darling' from his mum.

I usually get an hour before DS starts getting bored and whiny then it's time to go.
