Not sure whether I'm done.

DD3 is only 8 months old, so I still have a baby

NightmareSpoon · 15/03/2013 17:57

31

We started trying for number 2 when I was 32 and we're still trying nearly 5 years later :(
I'm just about to start my 3rd and final round of IVF.

insancerre · 15/03/2013 17:59

29 and 1/2 (didn't want to be over 30 as I considered that too old to have a baby)

Fakebook · 15/03/2013 17:59

Fingers crossed, I shall be 30 when #3 is born, if everything goes smoothly and to plan.

pansyflimflam · 15/03/2013 18:03

scarlettsmummy2 · 15/03/2013 18:09

I was 31 when I had second baby, but there are quite a few mums in my daughters nursery class who had babies in their forties.

TheKelda · 15/03/2013 18:10
  1. Tiring pregnancy, very easy birth and recovery.
EricNorthmanIsMyMaker · 15/03/2013 18:10

Ds2 was born 10 weeks before my 40th

SoWhatIfImWorkingClass · 15/03/2013 18:13
  1. I had him 2 weeks ago. 21 when I had my first.
Dededum · 15/03/2013 18:14

Friend has had her 4th at 45.

archibaldmonkeyface · 15/03/2013 18:16

First at 38, nearly 39 and second at 40, almost 41. Both natural conception after about 3 - 4 months ttc. Both complicated pregnancies (for different reasons) but problems not necessarily due to age and both c-sections, first emcs and second elcs.

Varya · 15/03/2013 18:17

23 when I had my twins - natural birth.

Springsister · 15/03/2013 18:18

Dc2 was born when i was 42. Conceived naturally after unsuccessful ivf cycle. We were given an 8% chance of this happening.

firesidechat · 15/03/2013 18:18

Had youngest on my 24th birthday. Can't remember what other presents I got that day.

firesidechat · 15/03/2013 18:20

Sorry, that should say eldest.

Youngest, I was 25.

Andcake · 15/03/2013 18:21

40 1/2 after 3 yrs of trying (Diagnosis of low ovarian reserve low amh etc) and 2 miscarriages. V easy trouble free pregnancy - c section as breech! Would love love love another but counting my blessings and coping with a 6 mo :-)

thegreylady · 15/03/2013 18:23

I was 30 and dd was 34 when our yougest were born. However my lovely friend was 42 and 46 when she had her sons-she was a single mum too. They are both grown up now-she is 76!

apismalifica · 15/03/2013 18:23

Had my first at 41 and then another (natural conception aka accident) at 45. Both births were induced, the first because I had pre-eclampsia and second time because they thought I might get it again. Was told I needed an epidural and refused both times. I did have some conflict with a bad tempered doctor for the second birth, she said she would now get the epidural set up, I said no thanks, and she was really annoyed and told me to remember it was my choice and not to bother to beg her to come back when I was screaming in agony later Shock). Both times I had gas and air and no problemsSmile. Breast fed them exclusively until 6 months and on demand until they were over 2 and they lost interest.

Nobody ever had the nerve to ask about my age back when they were babies. I lived in a lively part of London with a broad mix of people. Two of my best mates also had kids in their 40's so it was a great time. However, once I moved to the commuter belt when my second was still quite small many of the local Mums in the area were rather more small minded and treated me like a freak and excluded me from a lot of the local mum and baby stuff going on - as I already had loads of friends it was not a problem for me personally but my younger child still has issues with some of his friends Mothers not accepting him because we don't fit into their rather narrow social set! These days I'm almost 60 with a bouncy 14 yr old and have great fun - and financially it has been much less stressful than it would have been if we had started a family earlier in life.

wigglesrock · 15/03/2013 18:23
  1. I had all 3 of my children in my 30s
ChristmasJubilee · 15/03/2013 18:23

Cavort · 15/03/2013 18:28

I am pregnant with PFB and will be 35 when she arrives.

You 40+ ladies are a real inspiration that maybe I haven't left it too late to have more than one Grin

elizadofuckall · 15/03/2013 18:31

41, I now have a 19 year old, an 18 year old and an 11 month old :)

ilovepicnmix · 15/03/2013 18:32

33 but I can easily think of two people who had second children in their 40s. Most of my friends are my age so im sure id be able to tell you of firsts in 40s if I was a wee bit older.
