It must be very anoying when posters keep littering there threads with stupid grammer and spelling. So I taught it would be a good idea to start a thread for the grammar police full with errors So if your a member of this group and you're time is being wasted, trawling through treads for mistakes this could mean you don't loose so much time. It will also mean you might not be effected by this stuff on other threads as you will get it out of your system here.
So anyway, weather or not your a member of the dreaded grammer police its open to you to come on this thread and spot the mistakes, misspellings, stray apostrophes, incorret use of full stops and commas etc.

Every single mistake you spot is DELIBERATE. None of them are here unintentionally Grin

Usaly im pendantic but sumtimez u gotta let it go

Absy · 05/03/2013 11:58

I've been deliberately avoiding this thread for days, because of the mistake in the title. It makes me want to cry. The OP makes me want to howl and pluck my eyes out. Maybe other pedants have been doing the same?

atthewelles · 05/03/2013 12:12

What a pity if they have been Absy.

I was hoping to lure them all in here with that title and then quickly lock the thread so the rest of us can get on with fighting each other discussing matters of huge importance without one of the GP plodding on and killing the thread stone dead with their earnest criticisms. Smile

Very discrete comment at all them pendants, OP

atthewelles · 05/03/2013 12:20

MNHQ. Please lock the thread, quick. I think we've caught one.

ChairmanWow · 05/03/2013 13:16

No, one isent enough. There is to many of them left out there. We got to lure more of them in to the trap. Have you's got any more bait?

Absy · 05/03/2013 13:20

Look, you're doing this all wrong.

What you do is you have a title that would appeal to pedants. E.g. "AIBU to think that grammar is the most interesting thing ever?" at which point they all RUN over to have a look and make comments.

THEN you unleash the torrest of spelling errors, grammatical errors etc. What particularly excites them is if someone claims to be a pedant but then makes a mistake. So in the OP you state that you're a grammar expert, and then go on to post the OP as you have it here.

You're welcome.

atthewelles · 05/03/2013 13:21

Your right Chairmanwow. There cleverer than I taught and hav obviosly worked out that this is a cuning trap. Foyled again!

atthewelles · 05/03/2013 13:23

Oh thanks Absy. I new I was doing it rong.

Maybe I should of titled the thread: "Ten things you never knew about grammar". DAM!

OP posts:
TheVermiciousKnid · 05/03/2013 13:25

Pedants are very difficult to catch. You need to create the equivalent of one of those sticky fly traps. (A virtual sticky pedant trap?) How about posting a really tricky question about grammar which will lead to pedants arguing with each other (maybe something about the Oxford comma)? We will then spend ages debating the issue and won't have time to share our wisdom (pears before swine!) on other threads.

MammaMedusa · 05/03/2013 13:26

I clicked on this thinking "Must not mention OF not HAVE", "Read the actual question", "Do not mention OF not HAVE". You are mean!

gymmummy64 · 05/03/2013 13:27

Its a good job you didnt have less mistakes because then you might of had less replies Grin

TheVermiciousKnid · 05/03/2013 13:27

I did the same, MammaMedusa. I suppose the OP has succesfully lured all the masochistic pedants in. Grin

TheVermiciousKnid · 05/03/2013 13:28

Argh! You are all very cruel!

SageBush · 05/03/2013 13:31

at "pears before swine", TheVermiciousKnid - unless you were just entering into the spirit of the thread...

TheVermiciousKnid · 05/03/2013 13:32

Shock Blush

Oh yes, I was entering into the spirit of the thread, of course.

Blush

I'm sure swine like pears. :)

Zipbangboom · 05/03/2013 13:33

Are we looking for pacific misstakes?

TheVermiciousKnid · 05/03/2013 13:39

You great big meanies. Angry You won't detain me here any longer, I'm leaving now. I am not wasting my pears on you any more!

atthewelles · 05/03/2013 13:41
