It must be very anoying when posters keep littering there threads with stupid grammer and spelling. So I taught it would be a good idea to start a thread for the grammar police full with errors So if your a member of this group and you're time is being wasted, trawling through treads for mistakes this could mean you don't loose so much time. It will also mean you might not be effected by this stuff on other threads as you will get it out of your system here.
So anyway, weather or not your a member of the dreaded grammer police its open to you to come on this thread and spot the mistakes, misspellings, stray apostrophes, incorret use of full stops and commas etc.

Every single mistake you spot is DELIBERATE. None of them are here unintentionally Grin

Just you wait until your next serious post atthe welles.
I'll have you!

atthewelles · 04/03/2013 14:25

Actually Sally you left a gap between atthe and welles. If you check my name you will see that there is no such gap.

Just saying Smile.

Good point well made Grin

It is, in all seriousness, revolting when someone posts something along the lines of "I am so upset, my husband has just done x, y, z, my cat has died, the kids is fighting, my mum isn't talking to me and I've stubbed my toe...

and some utter knob replies

are. not is.

Or worse - some smart arsed comment about paragraphs to someone who has clearly poured their heart out in a moment of upset.

Such people go on my 'Arsehole' list and remain there forever more.

TheVermiciousKnid · 04/03/2013 16:07

as you will get it out of your system here.

Nooo! It doesn't work like that. You don't just 'get it out of your system' if you are a proper pendant. :(

atthewelles · 04/03/2013 16:13

I totally agree Hecate. I can never understand posters who plod doury onto a thread to correct the OPs grammar, add absolutely nothing else to the discussion, and then plod dourly off again. I always imagine they must be a barrel of laughs to live with.

OP posts:
themaltesecat · 04/03/2013 16:22

Love it!

No, really, it gave me hives, but it's still very funny. Grin

(My laughter, however, wobbled at the end. You do know that it should be "None of them IS here unintentionally," don't you?)

atthewelles · 04/03/2013 16:22

Aaagh! I meant 'dourly' in the first line.

That was deliberate, you understand Blush.

OP posts:
HecateWhoopass · 04/03/2013 17:05

Nope. Sorry. Everything you have said up to this point is now irrelevant and all that matters is the typo. All further discussion will be about the typo.

You will be subjected to a character assassination.

Oh, and I feel sorry for your kids.

So you say...

Hmm

I thing you meant "loitering" not littering, BTW.

HecateWhoopass · 04/03/2013 17:24

You may argue against the comma before the connective, I suppose. Or the lack of an exclamation mark after then interjection. I googled that. I have no idea what I am talking about but it sounds good, doesn't it?

It won't make any difference.

You're a terrible human being.

HecateWhoopass · 04/03/2013 17:25

I threw you a typo to cling to in that last post.

[liar liar pants on fire]

atthewelles · 04/03/2013 17:27

Ha ha ha. I spotted it. There should not be an apostrophe in wont.

OP posts:
sneezingwakesthebaby · 05/03/2013 11:13

I think your all takeing this to far now. After reading this all again I can safely say your all ridiculus jelus pendants. Its tort me a lesson thou too not jugde or focuss on people's grammer or spelling on serius treads and to focuss on what's really happning on the treads.

DeepRedBetty · 05/03/2013 11:26

Grin thanks for making a serious point with humour.

A couple of times I've clicked on a thread, where OP is clearly very distressed, and in need of support/advice pronto. But if it's really, really badly written - with lots of text-speak and more than a screen page long but not a single paragraph, it can be really hard to work out what's upsetting her/him. So a couple of times I have posted something like...

'I can see you're really upset and I want to help, but I can't quite understand what's going on. Can you take a deep breath and repost, maybe dividing each different bit of the story into a new paragraph? unMN-etty hugs etc etc'

And each time the OP has come back and done this and we've been able to soothe, advise and commiserate, whichever is appropriate.

As you were...

atthewelles · 05/03/2013 11:51

DeepRedBetty

In all seriousness for a moment, I think that's fine. It is the posters who march onto a thread to tell the OP her apostrophe is in the wrong place and then just march off again without making any contribution whatsoever to the discussion that I find very odd. I don't know if they think it makes them look and sound superior; or if they're so ignorant they genuinely don't realise that their behaviour is rude and offensive; or if they have some grump with the OP and are making an ill-judged (and not very imaginative) attempt to put them down.

(Hope I have put all my semi-colons in the right place Confused)
