We filled a thread, so here's another!

Unfortunately 26s are pretty non existent although Panache are supposed to be bringing some out soon. The symptoms you describe definitely sound like back too big. Short term there are two choices - find a 28 which fits well in the cup and adjust the back or combine with a Rixie Clip, or look at Ewa Michalak, a polish company who custom make bras in a 26. Because the 26s are custom they're non returnable so I would suggest ordering a couple of their 28s to establish the cup size (and some of their bras come up small in the back too so they might fit anyway!) before custom ordering.

At a 26 back you would be around a G cup.

Thanks to this thread (well, the last one anyway) I have gone from wearing an ill-fitting 34B to a 32DD and I look seriously good

Many thanks to statistically and sorrel for their help. They suggested I started at a 30E which I thanked them for, assumed they must be mistaken, and ordered a load of 32Ds. Which, naturally, bulged all over the place.

So today, feeling like a bit of a fraud, I had a fitting in Bravissimo and left with two very comfortable and very flattering (if not terribly seductive) bras. I then scoured the high street and tried on over 30 bras and discovered that I need a 30E in anything stretchy and a 32E in particularly rigid and/or low cut bras. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything to match the Bravissimo bras in comfort and shape under clothes (they give me a lovely 'narrow' silhouette) so I shall have to make a return visit or try my chances ordering online.

Thank you Thanks

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 17:56

Glad you got on well NeverQuiteSure. It makes such a difference - if you like the narrow silhouette then you might like Ewa Michalak.

if you don't mind, please share the work amongst your friends about how wrong some places are getting this. We're on twitter/Fb and harrassing some of the retailers ;)

Thanks Statistically. I'll try that.

I've shared the Facebook campaign.

sparkle12mar08 · 03/03/2013 18:06

I just got a retweet from Ola Jordan for the betterbra blog and #wedontadd4anymore hashtag! Wasn't sure whether she would, given her Boux Avenue work - but she's likely to reach a lot of people! And if just one of them questions what they've been told, then it's a result!

ToothGah · 03/03/2013 18:15

Wanted to plug the lovely bras I got in Asda today for anyone who can't get to Bravissimo or a department store (or hasn't got loads of cash to splash.)

This one is stunning, the draping in the fabric on the front is really pretty and it's only £8.

Same goes for this one.

I also got two of these for £3 each. I actually cannot see my feet in them!!!

I still can't quite understand how I couldn't fill the 38B (which was gaping at the top) but I can a 36E - but I don't really care :)

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 18:16

That could explain the blog traffic spike sparkle, good work!! :)

Some lovely bras there ToothGah!

Have tweeted Kristina Rhianoff, Nigella, Sue Perkins, Military Wives, Zoe Ball, Alex Jones, Miranda Hart and Chris Evans too - you never know, a retweet of him could really change things!

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 18:22

Yup, 1 or two big name retweeters could certainly make retailers start paying attention. Thank you so much

SorrelForbes · 03/03/2013 18:31

This is brilliant. I'm still working out the whole Twitter thing and just clicking away wildly at the moment.

sparkle12mar08 · 03/03/2013 18:32

Have also done Lorraine Kelly, Holly Willoughby and Hilary Alexander. Will keep thinking!

RubberBullets · 03/03/2013 18:36

I've tweeted a few celebs today too. Fingers crossed. Personally I'm looking forward to SC and Sorrell appearing on This Morning. You could measure Holly Willobooby live on air :o

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 18:42

I think bombarding is the way forward!

Ooh, one more thing, in addition to my new bra feeling sooooo much better, I've noticed another plus point! I tried on a few shirts I have that didn't quite fit across the bust when I was wearing the wrong size bra, these shirts now fit great! So I now have extra clothes to wear too, thanks to you lot! Thanks

SorrelForbes · 03/03/2013 18:46

I agree. Do I have to go on This Morning? I'm practising my fake rictus grin right now!

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 18:53

You're not leaving me on my own!

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 03/03/2013 19:09

Oh OK then! I think Married and Celtic have to come too. We can go to the pub bra shopping in the afternoon.

sparkle12mar08 · 03/03/2013 19:12

Retweet from Military Wives!!!! We're reaching out ladies!

SorrelForbes · 03/03/2013 19:13

That's good. Many of them live in Plymouth (where one of yesterday's M&S fittings took place).

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 19:24

Woohoo!

Statistically, what's the name of the Facebook campaign? I'd like to spread the word on there? Spent ages discussing this on a girlie night out last night. Must have attracted a few weird looks when showing the girls how to scoop!!
I've had a quick look for new bras but not much around in those sizes in local shops. I guess retailers only stock what sells and of course we've all been conditioned that we're a and b cups over the years.
As for my old bras I think I might try and find the name of that charity which sends them to ladies in Africa. Think someone mentioned it further up the thread?

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 19:47

FACEBOOK PAGE HERE

We have shared the link to the oxfam bra company too.

Silverstar2, I just tried on my Masquerade Persia in the 32. It's a little too big for me (measuring at 30.5") but I would say it is definitely on the small side back wise.

OP posts:
ToothGah · 03/03/2013 20:01

I'm waiting for my mum to text me her measurements and I'll work out what size she should be.

I'm betting on a 30B or maybe an A, but she's wearing a 36C despite being a size 10.

She admitted that she's practically rattling around in her bras so looking forward to helping her get a better fit that will give her a good shape.

You guys are brilliant Thanks I've shared the FB page and the blog on my FB as well.

knittedslippersx3 · 03/03/2013 20:10

Am going to measure and post tomorrow but I have a quick question. On bigger ladies should it always be underwired? And should it be padded or just material? Thank you!

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2013 20:51

I would always go for underwired, but if you have been wearing the wrong size a well fitted underwired will be a revelation. It's a very different beast.

Padded/moulded vs material is a personal choice. I prefer non for every day use as I don't get quite as good a fit in moulded.
