We filled a thread, so here's another!

No, I didn't try a 28. 30 was as small as they made, and anyway it was super tight! And I measure 30, pulling the tape measure tight. I don't have any armpit escapeage with the 30DD ones I bought, but no cleavage either. I've just had to take it off though as it was absolutely killing me. The underwires were really digging in, I couldn't stand it any longer.

Beksybob · 02/03/2013 18:00

Oh, and yes to scooping

XiCi · 02/03/2013 18:17

Ive also been to Bravissamo today and cant believe the difference - a big thank you to everyone helping on this thread.

My mum wants to know her bra size now - can anyone help? We've just measured her and she is 36 under and 43 over

sparkle12mar08 · 02/03/2013 18:22

XiCi - try 36F and 34FF to start, and 36FF and possibly 34G

blibblibs · 02/03/2013 18:24

Do think the 32F was the best fitting today they were just too ugly.

Bravissimo were very busy today (don't know if that has anything to do with MN Grin) but they were not interested in the slightest with me. Think I know what I'm looking for now (maybe) but i don't have the time or inclination for high street shopping after today Sad

Mam23 · 02/03/2013 18:29

This thread is a revelation. Always went with the +4 method - measured several times by M&S!!!

Measure 30 and 35. Went trying on bras in Debenhams. Smallest back I could find was 30 but still could pull out quite a bit of the band when it was done up on the loosest setting (that's right, right?) so I could probably do with trying a 28 (but couldn't find any to try). Is there a way to take in backs or am I stuck having to order online?

sparkle12mar08 · 02/03/2013 18:43

Blibblibs - break out your credit card and have a poke around brastop.com! I'm your size too, and have just ordered over £200 worth of stuff to try Shock Good job they have free returns!

Syncope · 02/03/2013 18:53

Have posted this on one of the other threads but thought I'd add it here, too.

Posted my measurements on the other thread last week, was advised to try 28F/FF. Went shopping, came home with a 30F - realised, after a bit more advice from the amazing bra ladies, that it was the wrong size, so I went back today and tried on a few more. Ended up exchanging for a 28FF.

Still can't quite believe I've gone from a 34B last week to a 28FF today! My boobs look amazing!

Sadly I'm pretty skint this month so will have to wait a few weeks before I can buy more, but thank you, Bra Interventionists! Dragged my mother along too who was also wearing completely the wrong size, and thanks to her new bra she's suddenly developed a waist that was never there before...

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 18:53

Beksy it could be a style issue. Are they moulded/plunge/balcony? Or possibly try a cup size down, if you feel the back is right but there's space in the cups. There's a lot of trial and error in this bra business...

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 18:57

Mam23 apparently it's easy to take in a band but I've never tried it. There is a thing called a Rixy clip available that does it.

Debenhams own Gorgeous range comes up small so you could try a 30 in those, or they do sometimes have 28s. Amazon currently have some good bras available in 28 band, and you get free returns.

Beksybob · 02/03/2013 19:00

I tried every style going! Push up ones worked in terms of filling the cup but only just - no cleavage. Boobs very much inside the cups, if you know what I mean. I tried a cup size down but I started getting armpit boob.

Me & bras...we're not meant to be. Feel so much better since taking it off!

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 19:00

blibblibs that is crap service in Bravissimo and worth bringing to their attention.

Were you scooping in those 30 backs? The solution to back fat is rarely to go up a size- more to scoop vigorously and keep the back tight enough to keep it all in.

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 19:03

Bugger Beksy how frustrating. I know Statistically recommends the Bravissimo Satine for cleavage, might be worth a look. But no bra is any use to you if it's causing you pain. What brand is it? Do you think the wires come up too high for you?

Mam23 · 02/03/2013 19:03

Thanks celtic. And thanks for all the time you wonderful boob gurus are devoting to these threads.

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 19:04

Great news Syncope and teaforthree!

eski2606 · 02/03/2013 19:08

Could anyone telle what size bra you'd need with measurements of 34 and 43? Thank you

SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 19:10

Try a 34G

Beksybob · 02/03/2013 19:11

M&S, I must confess. There is no-where else in town that does a 30.

No, I don't think the wires are too high - they don't come up between the boobs atall. It's underneath where it was really pressing in to me. It definately can't be too small a band? Or are non-wired any good?

Thanks so much for all this!

eski2606 · 02/03/2013 19:14

Thank you for your help, that's great

Cheeriostuckonsock · 02/03/2013 19:16

Could you help me out too please? M&S has me at a 36C but lately my boobs hurt... Reading this thread has made me realise how baggy my bra actually feels Blush so... I'm 30 under and 37 over, what say you, kind bra gurus?!

SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 19:17

Try a 30F Cheerio.

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 19:17

Cheerio 30F for starters!

sparkle12mar08 · 02/03/2013 19:18

30F to start with Cheerios!

MrsKeithRichards · 02/03/2013 19:18

Yay! It's been a long time comin and has been done on a budget (primark) but I'm sitting here in perfectly pert, giant boobage. I'm a 36f. An f!! I've worn 40 or 38d or dd for ever.
