Especially when most working people couldn't never afford to live somewhere costing that much?

I really can't believe she as a sodding horse .... And people on benefits have such a tough life .... Not this person!

seeker · 19/02/2013 18:38

Bloody hell, that horse is the spitting image of my dd's!

DH is in the RAF and we were not suitably housed due to my disabilities. We were offered a house very similar to the one this woman lives in now. It was very unsafe for us, me in particular and my OT had a massive fight with the housing people so that we wouldn't be housed in it. Now, some other family with a disabled family member is housed in it.

I went to school with a girl who had a child at 14, her mum chucked her out as soon as she was 16. She was given a really run down flat, which has since been knocked down and she was housed else where. She never had any more DC. Her child is now 28, but she has worked in a care home since he was 5. I know this because I last saw her in there when my nan was in there, and died there, 4 years ago.

I don't understand why this woman has continued to have DC when she has no means to support them. I don't understand why the men have fathered the DC and not supported them. I don't understand why they think that it's right to do so!

pashapasta · 19/02/2013 18:49

Also waiting for "why shouldn't she have a horse. You have no idea how she pays for it. Stop judging" comments.

I would love a horse, we can't afford it. They are expensive. If this is true, it is madness.

Angelfootprints · 19/02/2013 18:54

There are many people in my age bracket who have worked and are working very hard with no chance of getting onto the housing ladder -even a studio appartment out of reach let alone a 160 sqm house.

Stories like this must be even more demoralising for them.

Nancy66 · 19/02/2013 18:56

She could have a 120 foot yacht and there are people on MN that would still defend her.

Ashoething · 19/02/2013 18:59

No she cant possibly have a horse. Dont you know that all people on benefits are living hand to mouth

maisiejoe123 · 19/02/2013 19:01

I agree, when I said that I was having my nails done next to two non working mothers on benefits and their 8 year old DD's some said that maybe it was to cheer themselves up, a very rare treat. It wasnt they had a loyalty card! And no way were they 'depressed or downtroden in any way. In fact I was quite envious tbh.

So, yes am waiting for the 'why shouldnt she have a horse' brigade

maisiejoe123 · 19/02/2013 19:03

She has been so so stupid to allow herself to be shown in this way... The backlash she and her kids will suffer will only be down to one person - HER!

And then some will come on and say she is uneducated, doesnt really know right from wrong, bad start in life etc etc etc

pashapasta · 19/02/2013 19:03

Gosh, it has gone quiet...........

She could sell the horse to Findus....

maisiejoe123 · 19/02/2013 19:06

Its funny, the Daily Mail is hated by some on MN. When a story like this appears some try and discredit it as very rare, made up even. Well, now the story is everywhere.

If this case is SO unusual then capping the number of bedrooms that a claimiant can have isnt going to affect many. Cap the number of council house bedrooms to 3. Any more then sorry, you will need to shock horror get your children to share.

MadameCastafiore · 19/02/2013 19:07

Why is it societies problem? Why should we think about her poor kids when she sure as hell isn't?

Now I'm not advocating work houses or enforced sterilisation but FFS, have how many kids you can feed and adequately house. Don't just expect to make choices and have someone else pick up the tab!

D0oinMeCleanin · 19/02/2013 19:08

i have plenty i could say, but you all have made your mind up, so it's pointless.

this woman was raped as a 13 year child and i find it sickening that most on this thread are choosing to ignore that.

maisiejoe123 · 19/02/2013 19:09

Thats very funny Nancy! I cannot get worked up about this horse meat issue. Maybe I have eaten it by mistake. I am still standing. There are plenty more things in life to worry about then this.

And I was in Waitrose the other day. The chap in front of me asked the very young butcher whether he had any horse. I know he was joking but why do people think that when they make jokes like this they are the first to make them!

How we laughed of course....

Ashoething · 19/02/2013 19:09

Someone asked further up the thread why britain has the highest teen pregnancy rate in europe? Well could it be due to the fact that in some european countries you dont get handed a house/cash for having a baby when you are a child yourself?

LtEveDallas · 19/02/2013 19:09

First child at 14. 2 more before she was 18. Left school after first child and no-one tried to help her. Fathers are not providing any support.

Current partner does work, DM got it wrong

Left sterile after treatment for cervical cancer. Still not got the all clear, so all you haters need not worry, hopefully she'll die soon and the kids can vacate the house and go into care, I mean its not like this country has a shortage of foster carers or anything is it?

Hair is pink after she had it cropped and died to raise money for the cancer ward that treated her. Selfish cow.

2 of her kids work, she looks after her grandchildren so they are able to

The council received £210k for the plot of land the house is being built on - alongside 13 more 3 bed 'affordable' homes, some of which will be private, some LA. This house is being built in such a way that when her children leave home it can be separated easily into 2 three bed houses.

Th three eldest children are on the council waiting list and have been for some time. There is a shortage of suitable housing in Glos.

But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of a good pitchforking.

moondog · 19/02/2013 19:10

Ah Nancy, why not just cut out the midle men and go out it with a hacksaw?
Plenty of meat there for 12 people many times over.
Chortling heartily at the 'Gosh it's gone quiet' comment.
You couldn't make it up could you? Grin

Ashoething · 19/02/2013 19:11

Its very sad that she had a child when she was 13/14 of course. But no one forced her to carry on having children she cant pay for.

maisiejoe123 · 19/02/2013 19:12

Many many women on MN have been assulted in some way in the past, maybe by being with a violent man, maybe they were at a party when young and things got out of hand and the lads misread signals if any that were given out. However difficult that is we dont then go and have 11 children and give out interviews like this. Her children wont be able to walk down the street. And her pink hair makes her very easy to spot.

moondog · 19/02/2013 19:13

Or indeed the horse.
Perhaps the horse was abandoned by his previous partner and needed a place to live?
I'm sure there's a spare bedroom in the eco mansion.
