Thank you Freddie. You are very reasonable .

I have no bananas with which to make a smoothie . AIBU to be in a very bad mood about this?

AgentZigzag · 15/02/2013 22:14

DH has just put a new fan in my computer (the old one was akin to having a swarm of mossies constantly in your ear), AIBU to be listening to it more now it's quiet to revel in the silence? Grin

Honestly, it was the bane of my life it was so loud.

YABU Selba, just substitute with chocolate/choc ice.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/02/2013 22:17

AIBU to let DD have a huge nap because I have a migraine, even though I should wake her up? Different timezone, she's napping now...

elfycat · 15/02/2013 22:18

Thank you for this thread.

My PIL came round on DD1's 4th birthday this week. I brought out her cake at one point (afternoon tea time, they both have a sweet tooth). Rather than pay any attention to my thrilled little girl they looked at other stuff. Finished off their trivial and banal conversation point and started on another.

DD1 twice asked quietly if she could blow the candle out. DH started singing Happy birthday over his parent's conversation. He NEVER sings but bless him for looking out for our little girl.

AIBU to want to give them a -possibly only-- verbal clip round the ear?

HairyPotter · 15/02/2013 22:22

I have 5 10yr olds upstairs for a sleepover. They are increasingly noisy and I fear I will never get them to sleep. One of the little darlings like to get up at 6am.

AIBU to hit the wine?

HairyPotter · 15/02/2013 22:22

Likes not like! Ffs

NotSoNervous · 15/02/2013 22:25

hairy hit the wine!! You deserve a meddle for not having reached for the bottle long before now!

IvorHughJangova · 15/02/2013 22:25

DH gave me cheapo earrings for Valentine's Day which have caused an allergic reaction and left me with one enormous, swollen ear with a bloody great pulsing lump in the middle of it. Earrings were so cheap one of them broke when I removed it to probe at the throbbing (prior to realising they were the cause).

WIBU to jump on his ear lobe over and over again wearing spiky shoes, while shouting 'HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!'?

BlueMoon74 · 15/02/2013 22:26

Yes please!! Been gazundered tosspots!!!

Wewereherefirst · 15/02/2013 22:28

I had a general anesthetic today, AIBU to have expected DH to empty the washing machine even though I am just feeling tired?

steppemum · 15/02/2013 22:28

Hairy - open the wine, you will get no sleep tonight. I did this last year and swore never again. 2 kids max and at midnight they will get split into different rooms if they don't sleep

and breeeeathe

HairyPotter · 15/02/2013 22:29

They aren't even in jammies yet . The last time I had this lot, they all fell asleep at 2am and got back up AND dressed at 4am!! Angry

Poor dd1 (14) has barricaded herself in her room.

FryOneFatManic · 15/02/2013 22:53

Hairy I recommend the wine Grin

I did this last year for DD's 12th birthday. 7 (yes, 7) pre-teen girls having a sleepover downstairs (the only space big enough for 7 girls in sleeping bags).

They did not settle until around 1:30 am. The noise did my head it, and it was lucky our neighbours were out.

DP, DS (then aged 8) and I were intent on doing our own thing upstairs. At least we had laptop, tv, books, etc.

So here's some Wine for you. I reckon you'll need it Grin

FryOneFatManic · 15/02/2013 22:55

Okay, did my head in not it (sorry, toothache is distracting me).

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 22:56

AIBU to want to be Amish?

FayeKorgasm · 15/02/2013 22:58

Noticed today that someone has almost the same nn as me. I have had this name for ages and not happy Hmm

recall · 15/02/2013 22:58

My sil is likely to come round to my house for several hours this weekend, unannounced as usual. I work most weekends, and rarely get one off, I think she is a twat for doing this AIBU ?

DeepRedBetty · 15/02/2013 23:05

Faye you're clearly not posting enough, or if you are it's not in places I go. (I've blocked Baby Names, Style and Beauty and Relationships amongst other to be fair). Splendid nn!

Hairy I trump you with eight 13 year olds for ddtwins birthday. Absolute hell on wheels, do-able only with gin.

They're fourteen now and I refused to permit more than four extras for the birthday last month, and specifically banned the two most squawky ones.

DeepRedBetty · 15/02/2013 23:07

recall any way you can pretend to be Out? I have a collection of excuses to use when my SIL is being particularly PITA, would you like me to post them?

FayeKorgasm · 15/02/2013 23:07

I dont post v much, I will try harder (oh err missus). That for the nn love!

recall · 16/02/2013 01:42

deepredbetty Its tricky because she can see by our cars and the kids waving out of the windows that we are in. We live on a farm in a detached house, so its difficult pretending to be out Sad

The trouble is, I can't use the excuses because she just lands here, and by then its to late - no warning. She is a bastard ! I'm also a bit wound up because her DD has just recovered from scarlet fever, and I believe to still be in the contagious period, she is very reckless and selfish when it comes to things like this, and has been known to come round before and let it slip that her DD has vomited and had diarrhoea that morning after she has been playing with my 3 for an hour. I'm getting wound up now Angry

AIBU to have been totally Shock and outraged that DP picked up someone elses shopping list out of the trolley at Tesco, screwed it up and threw it in the bin??? I wanted it, I haven't found one for months :(

theodorakisses · 16/02/2013 08:21

I refused to bid on a pair of shoes I really liked on eBay because the seller had described them as "personified" as in "These lovely shoes are personified".

freddiemisagreatshag · 16/02/2013 08:24

You are All BU. there was a sleepover. My mood has not improved. Today is not going to be a good day and standing watching a hockey match in the cold is not going to improve if.

Will be back with proper suggestions after said hockey match. Flame away.
