I call men bitches too, equality an all that.....

It's not a word that offends me so I'll continue to use it when I fancy.

I think the c word is the ultimate woman hating word. (I always think that if I type it, my mother will leap out from behind something and tan my backside )

But yes, I am trying to retrain myself in my use of insults. It's not something you tend to think about, but when you look into the history of the words, and think about what it is you are saying and why - you do realise that most of them are very anti-woman.

I am not bothered about the word bitch.

I find people saying women are cunts really horrid. In fact I find it hard to even type the word without shuddering cos' I am such pathetic drip. But others don't find it offensive and in fact like it. So I just avoid the cunt threads.

The word bitch doesn't offend me where as Cunt really is vile.

Bitch is so so horrible I think. We used to use it all the time at school and I now loathe it. It's perhaps quite a personal thing though by the sounds of the other responses. I almost never use it but did slip up recently when describing the doc that performed an episiotomy on me/hacked me apart 15 weeks ago!

I guess i just refuse to accept that women's genetalia must be the worst thing you can call someone. So I am uncomfortable with the weird special status it seems to have.

IME it is used to men as much as women. I call male friends bitches or tell them "don't be such a bitch" etc, so in those terms of use it's neutral
