I have been friends with her for years - and we see each other probably every week and are good friends.

I went over to her house for tea on Tuesday and she gave me a present and a card.

My birthday was yesterday and she gave me the present early as she couldn't come to my birthday meal. She has a family member with the exact same birthday as me and it was a special birthday so I understand why she couldn't come.

But she didn't even text to just say - Happy Birthday. I felt really upset about it because I know it's not a malicious reason it's purely the fact that she forgot Friday was my birthday. How hard is it to take 10 seconds out of your day to send a text?

Sad

How old are you?

You got a present and card - she thought of you. Enough!

I didn't say happy birthday to my brother because I meant to call him in the evening and the life got in the way.
He was not upset.

Don't understand grown ups who make such a big deal about their own birthday such as compulsory meals
Next time let your friends arrange a night out for you if they want to

Seriously - I think that 5 is generous.......YABU
