My 18 year old watched the (fairly) recent re-run of Birdsong with me. I don't think she'd have bothered if it hadn't been for translucent Eddie. Not my type though (Eddie, not DD.) oh, and finding a previously unspotted good thread with 800 posts on is aaargh. they're always thundering on so fast you can barely keep up - but I don't want to be that poster who clearly hasn't read the thread, so I soldier on...

YABU, that would make every thread like reading Time's Arrow by Martin Amis. I usually read a whole thread before commenting. I've made an exception in this case so forgive me if it's been said already

Does 'top to bottom' mean 'from start to finish'? i.e. from first timed post to last timed post? If so, why is that a weird thing to do?

When you read a thread, is the latest post at the top or the bottom?

I have my MN set so that the last post is at the top, so I read from the bottom up. It means that when I come back to the thread I immediately see the last post.

Some weird people have it the other way around and can't see sense.

I see. I'm one of the weirdos, then, as I prefer to see the argument debate unfold from start to finish.
