After dinner tonight our the house is bare.

I'll be out of milk, butter, pasta Shock, fruit, veg the lot. Haven't even got any beans.

My sister informs me there is panic buying in Sainsburys 'worse than Christmas'.

I'll be alright until tomorrow won't I?

We have some stuff, but very little fresh. Am starting to feel that I should have gone to the supermarket this morning rather than for a manicure...

I mean, we don't even have a carrot for a snowman! (As I discover on another thread)

Ilovesunflowers · 17/01/2013 19:09

FGS of course you will. Sick of all these stupid panic buying threads. The world isn't ending because of a bit of ice and snow.

BumpingFuglies · 17/01/2013 19:10

Yes - don't go and fuel the fire. Anyway it's a fucking nightmare there at the moment.

fruitstick · 17/01/2013 19:14

It never even occurred to me to be honest - until my sister rang to tell me the world was about to end.

Same here. Shall just dig at back of cupboards for stuff in date thats been fogotten about. Ok so tin of soup, pasta shapes of crisps might not be ideal for brekkie but if thats what happens so be it we wont starve and its only the once. Shall be out of bread after brekkie tomorrow! Hmm

thesnowmanrocks · 17/01/2013 19:23

packet of crisps sorry, fingers!

Catsdontcare · 17/01/2013 19:26

I'm using it as excuse to eat up all the shite in the freezer. Fish finger sandwich anyone? I have milk and coffee so I'm good.

thebody · 17/01/2013 19:27

Do you have wine?? If not then go..that's an emergency!

thesnowmanrocks · 17/01/2013 19:28

Mmm fishfinger sandwich! Damn gona be out of bread so just fishfingers!

VoiceofUnreason · 17/01/2013 19:28

I invested in a breadmaker a coupla years ago and always make sure I have enough ingredients to make at least two good sized loaves in. Worst case scenario, lots of toast!!

INeedThatForkOff · 17/01/2013 19:28

I'll just pop to the Co-op tomorrow if I need anything. No way am I doing the supermarket shop (as it happens I have a Saturday delivery booked anyway so the onus is on them to get here).

3monkeys · 17/01/2013 19:29

Dd and I were just discussing what we could have- we have pasta, beans and a full freezer. So we won't starve but we might get scurvy!

BumpingFuglies · 17/01/2013 19:29

Armageddon is here (postponed from 21st December obviously)

Personally I would be stockpiling gin, fags, chocolate and Marmite. For trading, naturally Hmm

thesnowmanrocks · 17/01/2013 19:30

Dh got the Wine glad he has his priorities right! Grin

SilentMammoth · 17/01/2013 19:30

You need a zombie box. Thus always having breadmaker ingredients, pasta rice and tins (smug)

BumpingFuglies · 17/01/2013 19:30

Cats make me one please! Grin

MiconiumHappens · 17/01/2013 19:30

I've just been as DH brought up the panic buying/might be icy tomorrow. Was not a lot of fresh stuff left veggies etc. Not smug though, as reading this thread I realise I forgot a flipping carrrrrooooooooootttttttttttttt, ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

harrietspy · 17/01/2013 19:31

I'm not going.

Tomorrow we will either (a) walk to supermarket and buy Angel Delight or whatever's left on the shelves or (b) eat what we have at home (which is, at a glance, tinned chick peas, limp celery, beetroot, cheese and brandy butter).

RedHelenB · 17/01/2013 19:32

Got my toilet rolls (was down to the last one) & a load of reduced goodies for tomorrow for if the kids are off school!! Plenty of stuff in the local co op.

LeBoob · 17/01/2013 19:34

Put your celery in some water to crisp it up!

sookiesucksvamps · 17/01/2013 19:35

Matildaduck · 17/01/2013 19:36

I have a very full larder, stuffed freezer and fridge. Back up uht milk, bake at home bread etc etc. :-) we could live for weeks.

I live in a rural location, every winter we are prepared!

harrietspy · 17/01/2013 19:37

I shall, LeBoob. We also have tinned tuna, pickled gherkins and chocolate spread. A feast!

PoppyWearer · 17/01/2013 19:39

I have lots of gin, and port, but no chocolate! Or carrots! We are doomed, doomed I tell you!

Willdoitinaminute · 17/01/2013 19:40

I have a bottle ney a litre of gin.untouched due to Norovirus over Christmas. So I'm fine!
