Catfood forks in the dishwasher

Aibu in thinking it's wrong? Dp chucks them in and it makes me recoil a bit to see them sitting there with little bits of catfood on next to the other cutlery.

If I'm right, how should they be washed? How do you wash your petfood implements? Confused

Our cat has (almost) no teeth, and gets pouches (not as extravagant as it sounds for an only cat who refuses point blank to eat the same thing 2 days running) and she doesn't get/need them mashed, so no cutlery involved.

No need for any cutlery with a pouch, just give it a squeeze to separate all the lumps before opening and then squeeze into the bowl.

A knife is far too flat to get catfood out of a tin, a fork is much easier. I have tried with a knife but it wasn't the best implement for the job.
